Ya know…as most of you know…I’ve been here a long time. I’ve seen several of these “Dear John” type post from folks that said they were leaving the site. And…I laughed along with some of you at such public displays of stupidity. Well…I hope you don’t take this as one of those, and I hope you’re not laughing.

Todd, I hope that you will reconsider. I think we have over 1,000 active members. A food fight with some of 9 of those members, however heart felt on both sides, should not have to effect your positive relationship with the other 991. MM.Net it seems to me with all due respect isn't about the ADMIN but about the members and our cars. The glue to this site is not the vendors as much as we love them, it is the customers, us; that keep them here. This is not your first bus crash and probably not the last. I understand how you feel but please continue here as a "MEMBER." No apologies needed nor expected. I will respect your decision but be unable to hide my disappointment should you leave as leaving is not IMHO the correct answer to this situation. Dennis

I am a noob here and have noticed many things SergntMac, One of them being that I don’t particularly enjoy being talked to like a two year-old, AND there are many diverse personalities here which is a good thing. Taf’s generosity to donate a pair of mufflers to Marauderville IV (even though he’s not a “vendor”) was the only reason I ponied up $10 to that endeavor. I know it doesn’t help MM.net, but it does draw camaraderie and people to this website. I am truly saddened that what appears to be “old scores” have caused such a rift between members of an otherwise great website. Try and look thru the trees at the forest, and hope that the diversity you see now will exist in the future. I always try and get the facts before jumping to conclusions and hope that the new owners of this site will too.

I hope you stay. Politics aside, this site would be $hit without people from all walks of life chiming in on all of these forums. Pulling out a cornerstone weakens the whole structure for everyone above. At least keep coming to the monthly breakfast. You and your cast of characters are part of what make me get up @ 6am on a Saturday morning, wash my car, and drive 40 miles or so to Cracker Barrel. Its a trip!

Vendors
The sense of camraderie that creates "word of mouth" here is what makes a profit for the supporting vendors here, not advertising. The reliability and integrity of the vendor is what keeps customers coming back. After all, how are you supposed to know by looking at a car who did the exhaust work? Who tuned it? Who did installed the 4.10's. Its the reputation.......Not some silly sign.

You guys handled this situation in a pi$$ poor way. Maybe the dirty laundry was "outed" to quickley, I don't know or care. Before this, I never really had the sense that their was all this crap going on in the background. Find a way to rectify the situation with Todd. Call it a draw, whatever I don't care. We all don't have to be drinking buddies, but there is common ground here and it should count for something. Set the ego & vendor pressure aside. Other than this I wish you luck in making this website more addictive than it already is .

Here's something from my 30 year old Doubleday Dictionary:

mod-er-ate - verb - 1) To reduce the violence, severity, etc of; make less extreme, restrain 2) To preside over 3) To make less intense.

To the majority of The Nine: I think we collectively appreciate you stepping in with your own dollars & hours to keep this neighborhood from caving in on itself. The volume of posts on this tread here have a bit to do with Todd, but much more to do with how his attempt at donating led him to being treated so poorly by the ones we count on to "make less intense".

Best of luck at filling the big shoes you've selected. I really want to see you succeed, but simply deleting the photos that bothered the vendors was, in hindsight, the way to make this less intense.

May we never repeat this lesson.

Todd (TAF) has not been, never was, and never will be a vendor here. No exception was made. No exception was asked for by Todd. No exception was expected or needed. It's simple: he was not a vendor!

However Todd says had never paid to begin with, I believe it was even mentioned earlier that there was no record of him paying. Logan kept books, but only the books Logan needed to keep. When we took over, we reviewed all assets and liabilities, and moved forward.

Meanwhile, we began overhauling benefits and features Logan had established a while back, and one of them is that a "supporting member" is awarded additional PM and storage space.

When looking at the storage for TAF, it's 1700 PM's and 472 high quality photos, and he was adding "more to that every week with his "On The Rack" Moreover, he was identified in the software as a "contributing member", which means that somewhere in time, he gave Logan a donation.

Now it looks the other way, like Logan gave him a donation of extra storage space. Nonetheless, the clock was ticking, and TAF needed to update his status, or it would expire. After it expired, he would revert to member-a-large, and his storage space would be cut in half. He would not have access to any PMs or his gallery without cleaning out files of his choosing to be back under the limit.

Meanwhile #2...Two complaints from supporting members on TAF's behavior. bboth love the the OTR thread, but got tired of seeing the banners, when that advertising is advertising they pay for. On both topics, TAF was contacted, and given alternatives to choose from. He did nothing at all, include talk to any of us anymore. When another member covered his contribution, the storage problem went away and he is now a legit supporting member for the next year. However, it's now 10 complaints from vendors, not just two anymore.

I can't take any credit for that, it's not because of how I addressed them. It's because of this thread.

Well, that's about all there is to it. It does look like a simple solution, and it always did look simple to me. Stop posting new pics with banner in them, or take advantage of a vendorship and bang your drum loudly. At the very least, do not jeopardize your gift from Logan, extended storage.

It's not really about anything now, here today. TAF is free to do what he wants, but if he posts another pic with 411 on Grand Muffler in view, the complaints of ten vendors will be acted on. Other than this, the problem is indeed cured, 100 percent.

It was private. Private until this thread was posted by a close friend of Todd's.

Meanwhile, you can't have a private negotation with someone who won't communicate with you. Todd was reminded that his annual dues was about to expire, and he needed to update that or his Gallery and PM storage would be cut back to that of member-at-large, and require a lot of house cleaning before he could add any new pics, or, use the PM system. He did nothing about that, and the enevitable became the end.

However, it's fixed...Now, and apparently without any thanks to the member fixing it.This is not correct, Glenn. Another member paid his overdue supporting member bill, and Todd's good for one full year. The offending pics are still in violation, but the "On The Rack" threads may (and should) continue. This is Todd's choice, but his ability to post new pics and use the PM system has been restored.

Great idea, everyone pitch in and pay the supporting vendor fee of 324.00 for one year, and the rest of the supporting vendors have nothing to b!tch about. We have heard from every one of them, and on this topic specifically. Someone step up and convert the promises into cash, and all concerns are healed.

We have come together before, to help members out of a tight spot. 257 posts now, and it seems to me that if everyone posting in this thread threw two bucks in a hat for every thought posted here, there would be nothing to talk about.

Seems like everyone loves Todd and his pics, and they all love to rant against the new machine. But, in the end, Todd isn't worth a dime, or, the time to get that fixed? WTF?

BTW, here's a quick list of the vendors offended. Y'all remember these guys, right? They are the good folks who come here and pay up a vendor fee of at least 324.00 per year, just so y'all can insist on discounts on Marauder merchandise, and freebies at events and meet, and demand a King's treatment from them as a customer. Oh, and don't forget how much fun it is to kick them around? Dayum, that entertainment is priceless...

Mac, I just talked to Jerry and he is not offended by this. He said, "if Todd is advertising on the site then he should pay vendors fees". "If he is not advertising on the site and is not profiting from the site he should not pay vendors fees". He sees nothing wrong with the pictures as long he is not advertising for profit.

He also wanted me to tell everyone that "Todd is a very good friend and he supports him".

Have you ever though that Logan gave Todd contributing member status because of the vendors he brought on board to the site. I mean he was the one instrumental in getting Metco and a few others. I would say Logan was returning the favor to a friend unlike you guys.

I was always told that in order to get a little you have to spend a little. Maybe Todd was going to help bring another vendor on board. I don't see that happening now.

Frankly, I would have argued... first off 'cause I never really thought of it that way. I never took pics to be sure my logo was in the background. I posted in this thread the other night on my challenge to Barry's post...pull up the "On the rack" threads...look at all the pics...I looked at 25 threads the other night. Found nearly 300 pics of cars...and only 4 pictures that just so happened to have the name of my shop in it....and one with my Truck which has my logo on it in the background. I guess it's not the "one pic in every thread" that I've been accused of. But I'd have been happy to comply. Instead...folks can read for themselves what was sent to me.

Y'all are pathetic! I can't believe this charade continues when folks have had everything laid out for them to read for themselves.
