Finally figured out what the issue was with my 14" brake swap. :mad2: https://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?94024-Big-Brakes-on-a-not-so-big-Budget-YEP&p=1585103#post1585103
Installed new headlights...broke a clip on the front grille when removing the passenger side headlight...
The third / top clip was not included with either the new calipers or the two new pad sets. I did buy a C5 hardware kit while at the parts store so I have two. I do need to take everything apart ONE MORE TIME to put loctite on the caliper bolts. When I do that I'll install those. Since I...
Long story short, it was the caliper bracket.
Now for the long story. I got the red a$$ and ordered a new caliper / bracket and hub assembly, which along with the new rotor and pads would just about rule everything else out, beyond a bent spindle (as nothing was contacting the wheel or wheel...
To clarify when turning right, left, or going straight if I'm depressing the brake the noise doesn't change. After releasing the brake and going straight for a short distance the noise disappears. If I coast to a slow enough speed to turn left I hear the same noise but much less audible...
So last week I finally got off of my rear and installed these brakes. Unfortunately I’ve had issues with brake noise on the driver’s side. I don’t believe this to be an issue with the adapter brackets whatsoever but I wanted to run the situation past y’all and to see if anybody had a similar...
Y'all > Ya'll > You guys :)
I'm in Baton Rouge, not too far from you. I just picked up my first Marauder ('04 Silver Birch) a few months ago. I had to go to the Tampa area to get it, so you might want to be prepared to travel a bit to find the right car. I haven't seen anything very clean...
At a glance there are a couple of places online that claim to have them in stock, but given their scarcity, never having patronized these sites before, and the apparent lack of a secure checkout process on the first link...I'd recommend calling first...
In general the car was as advertised. As particular as I am there were some things I found that bugged me; fortunately they were relatively small and none were deal breakers. Driveway to driveway was 715 miles. Not a ton of fun after a 5:00 AM flight, but I made it. I've driven vehicles...
2004 silver birch marauder. 95k miles which is higher than I wanted, but the price is well below the top of my budget. I've been looking casually since this time last year and a good bit harder for the last six months. I'd narrowed it down to two cars, this one and another with 65k miles...
Hope it works out for you. I look a couple of times a day, so it's no big deal to post others here as I see them. I know you want something with a supercharger already on it, but you may also want to consider adding one if you find the right car. This one almost has me reconsidering my color...
