    Chi-town car shows and cruises

Lou, Nope, I'm one of the oldtimers when all you could get was black. I'll have mine for 3 yrs. this June. Mac, I'm really gonna try to make it. It depends if I want to be cold and go up to Canada for some fishing, or wait a few weeks after. Hope everything is well with you. Haven't seen anyone...

    Chi-town car shows and cruises

The Lemont one on Wednesday's is very good. Well over 100 cars every week. Elmhurst on the same night is good also, with a different theme every week. Downer's one gets VERY packed also, so get there very early if you want to park right on Main St. I will try to make the Lemont one, and some of...

Time for another Chicken Run ???

Hey everyone. I will try to make this one. Have just been way too busy to do anything. Gonna try to drag out the Chevelle. It will be good to see everyone again, it's been way too long! Wags

    Window switch doesn't light

Mine was out for about a year, then came back on. It will now be working about 1/2 the time. It's not "burned out", just something loose. If I smack it (my usual fix for many things), it will work for awhile. It's the same up arrow for the driver's window. Those led's that are in there should...

tetsu, Wasn't me, but I will be in Milw. this Sunday at Marquette with my daughter. So I'll cause terror in the MM, and then tell them I'm you. :D Wags

Poll: Drive your MM in winter or store it?

This will be my 3rd winter driving the Marauder. With the snows on, I've had no problems in the snow. I change them out 1st snow, and leave them on until April. Wags

What a Shame!!! Even for a Chevy!!!

Now I know how to rebuild my '68! I knew that someday I would find my dream combination! :puke: I think that I will do the Marauder up the same way. Can you get any drag radials in those wide whitewalls? They would look real keen on our cars  It makes my cry to see a Chevelle like...

Aren't we due for a Chicken Run?

Mac, Since I will be in AZ for the race this weekend, you can come get my car, and take that. And then you can keep mine and replace it with yours when you get it back :D . (I'll take the keys to the Chevelle, so you don't get any ideas). Sorry I won't be there, haven't seen ya in a long time...

    What was your first car?

My 1st car was a '69 SS Chevelle. It was the 1st of many Chevelles over the years. Back then, I used to blow them up alot (who remembers Oswego - 1st track that I raced at) Always had a winter beater to drive while rebuilding the mistakes of the summer. I still have a '68 SS convertable. Haven't...

Anyone Coming into Phoenix for NASCAR in Nov?

    Drag Radials

BillyGman, Yea, you don't see many '68 ones around, especially SS converts. The 502 isn't in there anymore. I sold it last year, along with the '55. The guy that bought the motor blew it up early in the summer. It was his 3rd motor in as many years (he has a problem thinking they can be revved...

    Drag Radials

Well, from my personal use of BFG DR's on my Chevelles over the years, they really suck in the rain. My Hoosier's are worse (but they are really slicks). I agree with Mac, in that I want the most out of a tire that it is intend for. That's why I run the slicks on the Chevelle when I go to the...

Aren't we due for a Chicken Run?

I'd like to make the next one, as I haven't been able to make the last few. I'll be out of town on the 7th (going to AZ for the NASCAR race), but would be able to make the following weekend. How's everyone doing? Just been too busy this summer to get the cars out that much :( Looks like there...

    Chicken Run Anyone?

I'll try to make it. Been so busy, I haven't had time to do much of anything lately. If it's nice, I'll crank out the Chevelle. :banana2: Haven't talked to anyone lately, hope everyone is doing well! Wags

    Married or Single??

Married for 24 yrs. 1 daughter starting college in the fall. The wife has never wanted anything to do with the cars. The deal that we have is that anything spent on the cars, she gets the same to travel with. It was good years ago, when she didn't know what suff costs (really dear, those new...

    Axle Recalls

What I don't understand, is that if it is truly a "recall", then why would it matter if it is under warranty still. or not? A recall is a recall. I'm well out of warranty, and if this comes up on mine (I brought it up to them months ago, so it should be in their records), they had better replace...

    I'm graduating!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats LL3, Congrats on getting it done! My daughter graduated on Friday. Harper is right down from Motorola. I go by there almost everyday. Have fun this summer. Enjoy while you can! Now I just have to come up with 28k for her tuition in the fall. Anybody need an IC design done? :D Wags

    Beware of these cars:

Well, I have to put my .02 in here. I have been a Chevy guy all my life until I got my Marauder (2 yrs now). I had a '95 SS and a '96 SS, which I bought new back in '96. I also have been racing since 1976, so I think I can offer a somewhat accurate opinion. From stoplight to stoplight, the...

    It's getting warmer....

It was pretty nice out yesterday, so I went and cranked up the Chevelle. Fired right up, as soon as it got gas to the carb. Let it run for about 40 min, then put it back away. It's almost time for us to get the toys out again! There were lots of bikes out, and a few convertables (not quite that...

Cold Start Problem - common or anomaly?

I had a "no start" problem when temps were under 20. It would start when 20, but very hard to. When the temps went to single digits, no start at all. When I removed the chip, no problem at all, cranked right up. Sent the chip back to Dennis, got reflashed, and cold start problem gone...so far...
