    Washed a classic today

I'll have to concur. This was mine until a few years ago. Parents bought it in '69, I restored it from '92 to '96. Life got in the way and it was sold.

    Chatanooga breakfast?

Not as of yet, but I've put a post on a local forum to see if anyone else knows of anything. Usually the car shows start back up in March/April, but somebody may decide to do something since the weather's so mild this year. I'll add to this thread if I find anything. Steve

    Strange smell...

Funny story - I was at a car show in South Carolina one time (mostly trailered cars, it was an AACA meet), and I walked up to a gorgeous 70 Camaro. There were a couple of ladies looking the car over, and one of them made a comment about the "little stuffed mouse" sitting on the brake booster...

    Chatanooga breakfast?

There's a Cracker Barrel near Hamilton Place Mall that may not have too much traffic (depending on the time), or you could hold it at the Cracker Barrel in Dalton (Exit 333 off I-75, two right turns if you're coming northbound) or in East Ridge (right at the TN line, exit 1B). Email me if you...

what was the first car you ever drove?

Dad's 1966 Ford pickup - 352 with a 3 on the tree. Still remember pulling out onto the road (alone, but a rural dirt road) and going about 100 feet and meeting a local sheriff's car going the other way. I was maybe 12 at the time. He never stopped, and neither did I. :D

    New wheels for the Blue.

in my best Bullwinkle impersonation: 1 2 3, presto oops - looks like I gotta get me a new hat! A quick look at it - the mask could be better, but it will give you a general idea. Steve

    Worlds fastest Marauder

Had the pleasure of seeing this for myself this afternoon. Not only did he pull the 10.3 in the qualifier, but he backed it up with three more runs within 3 tenths of that time. Folks, if you've never seen something as big and heavy as a Marauder leave that quick, you have no idea what you're...

    Is Breakfast on This Saturday?

Hmmm. Me and the missus need to be downtown at 12:30 - maybe I can convince her to leave early enough to catch the tail end of the meeting. Might be nice to put faces to names. Might see ya there! Steve

    Is it a Ford?

Ahh, yes. I had hoped the CV Sport would have been badged as a Galaxie, but then I have a soft spot for those. My parents bought a '64 Galaxie back in '69. I sold the same car about 18 months ago to finance a business venture. Should have kept the car.....:shake: Steve

    NOOB questions

Hmmm.... Thought that was tha nature of the beast, but it's beginning to sound like I may be the exception rather than the rule. I'll do some digging around the roof mechanism and see what I come up with. I'll post any results into another thread so I don't hijack this one. :nono: Thanks...

    NOOB questions

I have an '04 with the moonroof. You lose a bit of headroom with it, but overall it's not a bad trade. However, if you have visions of riding along at any speed above 40 mph with the sunroof back, forget it. My experience with an open moonroof is that there is a lot of buffeting above 40 mph...

    Neighborhood

In this particular area of Georgia, I've got the only one with Georgia plates. I've seen a SB driven by a (ahem) more mature lady, but it had Tennessee plates (Hamilton County). I've been to the local cruise ins, and have yet to see another MM at one of them. I've only seen the SB referenced...

Are You A 2nd Generation Owner???

Second generation here as well. Purchased the car in February of this year with 32k on the clock. Finally purchased a tuner to eliminate the funky shift schedule. Just got back from a trip to Ormond Beach, put about 1500 mile on it with no problems. Just to show how rare these are, I only saw...

    Finally pulling the trigger

That's the part that worries me. I can see this being a very slippery slope... :burnout:

    Finally pulling the trigger

I've been lurking around here for a while after I bought the MM ('04 DTR) and learning all I could about these cars and what could be done to them. I also learned pretty quickly that I wasn't the only one that was unhappy with the wonderful transmission shift strategy that Ford put into our...

    Were you sold?

Drove a black '03 about mid-year, and couldn't pull it off then. Found a used '04 DTR on a dealer lot about six months ago that had been there for a while, drove it and like it so much I "bought" it twice, thanks to a dealer screw-up with the financing. Not to worry, though - I got a better...
