Can you keep up with a VTEC?

So I'm just cruisin up Hoosick street in Troy, NY when I see this little red integra coming up fast in the right lane (I'm in the left) he slows down and stares my car down and then shoots off again. So I pull into the right lane and gradually accelerate to catch up to him. The next light was red and we were both behind cars, so I rolled down my window to see if he had anything to say since his were down and he was staring at me. I asked him if he ever went to lebanon valley dragway and he said he goes every week for test and tune, I asked if he'd like to line up. He follows with a comment that MADE my day! "Can you keep up with a VTEC?" The light turned green and i gave him a bit of throttle so he could hear my MM rumble. Nice enough kid, misinformed that VTEC motors are race engines capable of propelling him into the 9's. Needless to say, I'm going to the track next wednesday to see what he runs... :hotrice:
 
Love Lebannon Valley Dragway. It is directly west of Worcester and take almost exactly 2 hours to get there. Nice, nostalgic track!

I also am not boosted, but it is hard for me to get out there seeing as how it is a 2 hour trip! I usually only go there to watch my dad's friend run for the special events. Our family friend is Danny O'Day, he has the world's fastest wheel stander and he runs there and New England Dragway every once in a while for Night of Fire and Jet Cars Under the Stars, etc.

Hmmm, not very far from me, probably 2 1/2 hrs. I'm a free man after 08/22/10. Maybe I'll come out there sometime after MV8 for S&Gs. No boost here either, but running down the 1320 is a blast.

I'd have to ask them to allow me to pull off 4 plug wires from my 5.0 DOHC.

JEEZ...I would relish the chance to have some Ricer challenge me to a drag race....They always disappear when I'm out cruising in the Marauder.
 
FormulaMarauder and myself will be rolling up to LVD in the AM tomorrow for T&T if anybody is interested....I'm gunning for some modest N/A times but FM is hoping the wind is at his back for a chance to brush 11.99 :D

If it wasn't such short notice I'd def be down to go. I'm about 40 minutes away

You're 19 and he's a kid ? Was he about 13 ? *LOL* Sorry....I'm a geezer, and when I was 19 I had a Chrysler Simca 1000 French import with a 944cc four cylinder rear engine with a hot cam and Webber carburetor. VW Beetles were fair game at the line.

Doubtful........ I have a DTR, but I would TRY to keep up.:rolleyes::burn:
 
Around here, I am never approached by tuner cars....but more so the Mercedes SL class cars. Many AMG's in northeast Ohio.

A worthy adversary...and always a good run for the risk.

Haha, I saw him as a kid but he was prolly 23 to 25.

Black, Blue, and Silvers are faster than DTR's so it is only natural that V-TEC's and buttholes can out run all DTR's. We cant even out run other DTR's...............................:D

Hell, mine's so slow, I can't even drive by a store front where it can see itself's reflection, if it does......... it'll stop right there. I think I'll do a color change, and get some V-Tec stickers. :eek:
