God's Head Stencil's

Let's talk liners and stencils with Russ (03mmmonroe) while in KY this week. I got an idea.
<---Okay

I havent done it yet....I just picked it up this morning before work. My Marauder has become a daily currently as we have a car down with a leaky valve cover gasket or head gasket so I hope to do it this coming weekend.
<---Gotta get mine ready for the trip, woop woop!

I took the liner off, wiped it down with alcohol, and sprayed the entire liner with 2 or 3 cans of flat black. Then I did the stencil. BTW.... you will need new retaining clips.
Look for Dorman Products – 45713 – GM & Universal – QTY 3 (need 12 to replace all the clips).

The result:

Cool, it's as if you read my mind because looking at it yesterday i was thinking the pins were nasty anyway and would probalby bust off.

To get professional results the liner must be removed. No matter the condition of the hood liner the flat black paint will make it look new, then add the stencil (use thumb tacks to hold it down), then reinstall.

I went the extra mile and cut and removed the area around the JLT CAI and refiberglassed it. You cant tell where I did the work

Glad to see people are still working with this.

Definately the liner needs to come out to do it right, and refreshing it with flat black gives you a good starting point.

Okey dokey. No rush, i won't even be home this weekend anyways.
Hey has anyone spray painted thier liner, or do people get new ones when they do the stencil? My liner is trashed.

I got a new one and didnt paint it.....the cost was $77.00 and did the painting of the Gods Head on the insulator today...here is how it came out:

Thanks again Travis!!
