Cracked Head

I'd replace the head. Takeoff's would be the route I'd go.

I believe the cooling issue was with the drivers side head.... not the passengers side.

Have you ever overheated?

You are correct, Jim.

Cracked heads are very uncommon on this motor. Usually overheating will warp a head so that the gasket no longer seals.

Do you have any pics?
 
no the car is still at the dealer who tried to fix the blowout...
Talked to zack and Bodyman is selling a complete engine.

How impossible is it to replace the heads without pulling the engine?
 
Yeah a cracked head is not that common on our motors Like RF said warping ussually happens.
Kmastl send me a PM if I can help mine should be out in less then a month could be alot quicker. I just wish Zack was still on the board. (book of knowledge & always willing to help) He has been a tremendous help to many members on this board.
 
Sorry to here about the troubles kmstl . But while u r at it u should slap a blower on there. U can be cool and get a trilogy or a loser and get a vortec like bodyman. LOL. Just playing bodyman. Ps when r we gonna catch that catfish.

Ive been feeding him so probably getting even bigger. Well if I said after you beat me but then you would never get a chance he,he,he and that wouldnt be fair. Hell probably start bitting here in next few weeks. You need to come by sometime I need to clean out some bluegill from both ponds we could have a fish fry HYbrid Bluegill are dam good
 
First time I've heard of a cracked head on our motors. Make sure they give you the old parts.

I talked to the tech at ford and he said from what he could see the crack went all the way down the hole the sparkplug goes in

I will post pics of the old engine
