Okay folks, time to start gauging interest in a meet again. We had a great turnout the last 4 years now, so lets make it just as big or BIGGER than year's past!

CONVOY INFO AT BOTTOM OF THIS POST!!

This year we will only be posting in the NTM Forum so as not to have mulitple threads on the same meet.

This year it will be held Saturday October 29, 2011 for the meet.

Again, instead of eating at Woodys and getting your vehicles dirty, we will rent the pavillion at the park.

This is a Picnic lunch folks! As always, everyone is welcome, and all cars are welcome!

If you don't want to go to the trouble of packing a lunch, feel free to stop at Woody's and pick up stuff to go etc.

Woody's Smokehouse took great care of us the last few years but I think a lot of us didn't like getting our babies Dusty.

If you have FMRS/GMRS Radios, thats very helpful in communicating in a convoy as well! This year we will be on Channel 5.

Details:

When: SAT 29 OCT 2011, 11 AM to ???
What to bring: You and your crew....Your Panther, A picnic lunch, Paper towels, Drinks, Folding chairs, camera, sunscreen, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: FORT BOGGY IS A STATE PARK, we must abide by all the rules, no hot rodding, burnouts, speeding etc. You will be ticketed and asked to leave.

When entering the park, pull in PAST the stop sign, park your car and check in at the booth. DO NOT enter the park without checking in and getting a pass to place on your windshield.

The park entry is now FREE, however, they still ask you to check in.

The Park Ranger at Fort Boggy is very nice and have accommodated us the last few years very nicely. Alcohol and Glass containers are also prohibited inside the park.

Feel free to bring a cooler with cold drinks, folding chairs, sunglasses, sunscreen, baseball caps etc.


Sorry it has taken so long to get the information out, we wanted to be sure we didnt run into the same problem as two years ago....I do have conformation on the Pavillion.

Got a PM asking about a convoy to Centerville--OK--here's how we did it last year and it worked great--everybody arrived in Ennis within 15 minutes and we departed right on time and we got to Centerville about 10 minutes before the Houston group. I left Hurst at 0730--proceeded down E Loop 820 to I-20 at 0750--turn South on I-45 at 0820 to arrive at the Whattaburger in Ennis at 0850--depart Ennis about 0915 to arrive in Centerville about 1130. We met all the Western group at Ennis. As the time gets closer, I'll give directions to Whattaberger. Let's make this year a record one--it's been a great trip every year--Maury

HOUSTON AREA:

Meeting at Crackerbarrell on the back side by Whataburger on I45N @ AIRTEX around 8 AM....Will be rolling out sharply at 8:30 AM!!


SAN ANTONIO/SAN ANGELO/AUSTIN AREAS:

From San Antonio: We will be meeting at Rudy's Country Store Bar-B-Q @
15560 I35N Selma Texas 78154. At 6:00 AM we will be leaving Rudy's and headed up to Temple to meet Abraham and Rick, James and anyone else in or around that area at about 8:15 AM then shoot over to Centerville and arrive by about 10:30 AM.

Plan to convoy as before. I am selling my house and moving 1 mile to a retirement cottage--hope to be settled in by Oct----if not, I'll just run away for the day;) Can't miss Centerville !!!!:burnout: Maury

There is also a DBP around here that i'll talk into coming.

Mike Ill be coming with the Ennis group and should be solo. Question, Saturday is the 29th of October on my calendar.

  • Hey Mike.....I know I've missed the last 2 get togethers at Centerville but you can count on me going this year for sure. And lets get together on the taking of food. I am willing to cook up 10 or 15 pounds of chicken and beef fajitas to share with your family as well as shreaded lettuce/tomatoes/cheese/and hot sauce too. I would cook the meat there at the park so that it would be fresh and hot. If I remember there are pits to cook on at the park right? Let me know please.
  • And since we will be meeting before Halloween why not have a costume contest with some prizes for best/worst/and ???? costumes. I'll donate a $50 fuel gas card for a prize. And what about breakfast before we hit the road? Please get back with me and let me know. Batman:bat:

My bad.....I thought I had put it down right....and while I was reserving the Pavillion the lady at the TPWD said the same thing...."sir, Saturday is the 29th not the 30th" Geeze and I still put it wrong.

Just to be clear....it is Saturday the 29th, 2011. I have fixed the First Post.

I can't make it, have a family reunion in Marble Falls 10/29. I do look forward to seeing pics though. Y'all have fun.
 
Mike called me tonight and we discussed the Centerville meet. Patricia and I will try and make it. October is a busy month this year with Marauderville and then on to St. Louis for family visit. Since it's at the end of the month I can dig into November's travel funds.
