If your rings are as bad as you claim, you'll probably not like the fumes entering the passenger compartment.

I noticed fumes off my car when idling at stop lights, that's the reason I went back to a PCV system with the MM catch can.

I don't get too much out of the can when I drain it, but I figure whatever's there isn't going into the engine, so fine by me.

I'm only guessing by the amount of oil I have in my catch can. I am off for a week coming up soon and will be doing a compression and then leak down test.

Only if you have one breather open to the air and one to the intake tract. If both pcv valve cover openings are open to the air, NO unmetered air enters the inake tract. Period.

That will work! It could get a little smelly under the hood under wide open blasts but it eliminates the unmetered air problem!

You might want to consider plumbing the vents down lower in the engine bay like the old road draft tubes that were used prior to emission control/PCV valves. There is ALWAYS some blow by even on a healthy motor.

??? Why??? That and the neck snapping shifts keep the wifey from asking to drive it!\

Good point though!

I totally disagree with that, these engines are notorius for creating an oil slick in the intake!

Dont believe me? pull any lid off of a 4.6l dohc engine and take a look! healthy engine, or not your going to see oil!

My OEM engine at 95K of which 50K were S/C with 180+ runs did not have an oil slick and my Cobra at 50K and 40+ runs did not have an oil slick.

There are a lot of Mod Motors out there that are running with High HP and High Mileage and no catch can and NO PROBLEMS. I own one.

Forget driving it - she doesn't even like riding in it!

Best quote yet - "You spent the last three hours to MAKE it shift like that?!"

Fancy-Shmancy

... This is just another "Feel Good Mod" IMHO since PCV setups have been on billions of cars & trucks since the '60's with no apparent problems!!! ...

Sounds like the fancy-shmancy coil spring connectors that go between the ignition coils & spark plugs. They miraculously gain power & mileage upon installation. Feels SO good! Someone should tell Ford, so they can better their CAFE standing.

:D Or: (in whiney voice) "Why didn't you just buy a standard if your going to shift gears like that???" as he pictures her neck snapping one final time...

Has anyone pulled off their intake side tube since they installed it and checked to see if there was any oil getting into the intake side tube? I pulled mine off today and sure enough there was oil in it so that kind of defeats the purpose of the whole catch can theory.

Going to pulled the intake manifold off sometime soon and clean it, in the mean while I am going to revisit my old catch can at least that one allowed zero oil to get by even if it had a whole cup of oil in it. I might also just get a catch can with a breather filter on it.
DITTO / I use a JLT catch can with a ''lubrifiner screen filter'' insert and it does work :burnout:

Man I like those components, they look real "sharp" - over the top O E M
