Trip to track after 4:10 gear swap.

So I brought the tuner inside and got it updated through wifi. Had 127 files to update. Then took it out to the car, de-tuned the car back to stock and then re-loaded Marty's tune with 4:10 gear option. Car feels stronger but that could be in my head.

Pretty sure all I did after getting the 4:10 installed was just change the axle ratio.

So I had a 3:55 tune with 4:10 gears. Could this be the difference in six tenths of a second?? I was expecting 14.20's at the track but got 14.80's

I'll have to take it out to the track again to find out.

Thanks for all the help.

There is an issue with the car.

The car should have picked up at least .2 and the fact that your mph is down is an indication of an issue.

I needed to spend some time with MIzz MO today - call me tomorrow. You have my number.

Seems to me that running 4.10s with tune for 3.55s would cause the shifts to be premature at each shift point. Wouldn't that impact the HP curve and the ability to build MPH ?? Just sayin'

So you went a 14.5 with a gear and tune which is what I think he has, and he went a 14.8? What mph and 60' did yours do?

I'd have to dig out my old slips, he stated that the car went 14.70's stock... I find that very hard to believe... 14.90's maybe but not .70's...

"The Fat Bastid" ran a bone stock time of 14.738 @ 95.37 at Mason-Dixon Dragway on 23 October 2004. Don't think I have seen any better time on a stock Marauder. Cool, dry night on a 2003 MM and a small light driver.

I bought a tune from him with a 3:55 and 4:10 option. Not sure what difference it would make besides the speedometer. I switched it over. Maybe I did something wrong. My MPH has dropped in the 1/4 but I assume that is because of the gear swap.

I think it best that the parties discuss it verbally.

I assumed there was a difference in a 3:55 and 4:10 "tune". Thought maybe there were some tweaks. Just a ratio change in the tuner itself.

Going to do a tune up. New plugs, fuel filter and clean the MAF. Car sits quite a bit and Marty recommended I start there.

I've had the car for over two years, have put 5000 miles on it and have never done a tune up so I don't know the complete history of the car. I do have the Carfax. Car has 161,000 mi. Should have thought of that sooner.

We did. It's all good. No complaints from me just trying to figure it out. Marty has some of the best customer service skills I've ever dealt with. Just wish his shop was closer.

When you break a fuel filter clip, oreillys has a 10 pack of assorted clips in the help section

The clips that come with the filters are incorrect

There is a difference, more so with shift points, converter lockup schedule and a couple of other things between 3.55 to 4.10 tunes. The car should have came with 4.10, as many of us have said it along with a tune it's the best two mods to really wake the car up.

Hopefully the tune up solves your issue, I went from 14.8x range stock to 14.35 with just a CAI, 1 stage colder plugs, muffler change and a tune on 3.55 gears.

Been watching your Youtube vids - interesting despite the timeline. I’m looking at the 4:10 set, CAI, tune but I’m torn about upgrading the TC stall. Just floated this question through the PI website. 3600 stall keeps jumping out at me for some reason. Used a PI converter - transgo shift kit on my previous ’98 GT.
