Made my DTR even slower

Geddex Burnout Guard. Rubber wipes right off....

Not when you really get on it! I remember one time years ago at the track that it built up so thick it took weeks to get off. In fact I still have a good deal of it in the wheel well!

doesn't look too bad I've seen far worse

Can you tell me whats the purpose in them? I would assume its to prevent splashing water on the vehicle? If so wouldn't puddles be present due to rain? Thus necessitating a wash afterward regardless? Take it easy on me im just trying to understand the benefit.

Keeps dirt (mud) from kicking up onto car's painted surfaces from FAT front and rear tires. Put tire shine on a spotless Marauder and quickly go for a spirited drive. You will ba amazed at how much ends up on your car.

In my case, besides making sure that my DTR stayed slower than other traffic ('in joke' here at MMF), I bought my car from a dealer, who did a great job of covering up all sorts of flaws in the car. Only when I washed a couple of times did I start to see all sorts of dings and flaws.
One of the biggest problems was that there was a sort of permanent splash pattern on the rockers. Not sure if it was paint or concrete, but they are still there and dried tight to the paint. I'll need to buff or somehow get them off, and I haven't yet.
So I wanted to protect the bottom edges of the car against any more dirt, stones, and maybe rock chips etc.
No, they won't protect against water.

Hope that helps as to why you would install splash guards / mud flaps. Beware, though, the majority opinion here at the Forum is that they hurt the looks of the car. I am certain that I am at least on probation for installing them. That, and buying the wrong color of course.

I think I'll get kicked out of here after this post, but here goes.

Not only did I buy the absolute slowest, worst-handling MM ever, a DTR (see a hilarious thread on that subject in here), but now I have gone and added some Splash Guards.

For those of you who can avoid being nauseated by this, I'll add a couple of pics to show you how I ruined my ride.

I tried painting them body color with a twist, to match up with the black plastic on the rockers. Painting plastic is a trip, but not too hard once you get educated from You Tube.

Take a look, and if I get Disgraced and Dismissed, it was good being with you guys while it lasted. ;)

Looks good to me. I, too have splash guards, color matched to car. They were already on it when I bought mine from dealer. No disgrace!!! Us DTR's will stick together (: (:

Hammerdown,

Good to find a brother here!

Anyway, I am gonna talk to Marty and maybe one of his Tunes will catch me up to those black ones. Roll Far, DTR.
