re: Not a Marauder, but not bad at all

Car has been motor swapped. Gt500 motor and trans. Vmp blower on top makes around 800whp I think.

What’s with the rolling starts? That takes all the skill out of it!

With this new knowledge that a DOHC 5.4L can in fact fit with very little mod to the engine bay and this potentially coming out next year http://departmentofboost.com/products/lightning_F-150_99-04/lightning_4v_R_intake_manifold.htm and being able to work with our cylinder heads seems like we can breath new life into Marauders

So was this invented for:
Guys who can't get their car to hook?
Guys who can't cut a light?
Gals driving FWD turds?

I have no clue why it was invented, but if I were to ever race my car on a track, I would like the aspect of less abuse on the drive train. I didn't build a drag car I built a street car with some get up. I couldn't care less what my 60ft or rt is. I am assuming the ladies and gentlemen who race this method probably aren't building drag specific cars and wanted a safer way of street racing.

The more I think about it and looking over the most simplistic rules I’m starting to get it.

Like mentioned above the harsh cringe worthy hit my rear end would receive dropping the clutch at 4,000 RPM on stickies vs already rolling is a plus on expense and headaches.

Although the sheer thrill of a perfect consistent spine crushing launch is what thrills me the most. I’ve never been much into it for speed, just how quickly I can get there.

As for the rules, and I may be wrong, but is the whole cage requirements for 11.49 and what 135MPH?? thrown out the window with this type of racing? It appears so as the rules couldn’t possibly be more simple.

I think 11.99 and faster requires roll bar, and 10.99 faster a cage. It's been a long time since I looked at nhra rules. A friend if mine has a low 11 car and has roll bar only
