What did you do to your car today?

What kind of noise? Would always happen or only in drive? Wrestling with mine, not sure if manifold cracked, or leak at gasket, but is ticking and annoying me.

Metal tink tink tink. It came back. The 8 bolt flexplate is thicker I think I need to find shorter converter nuts or grind the originals down. They stick out past the converter studs a good 1/8" or so. It's either that or the crankshaft is moving around in the engine LOL!

My other son has the same year 2000 Ford but his is an Explorer with the 4.0 and I honestly don’t really notice a huge difference between the two.

Both are pretty loaded XLT’s and have been very trust worthy trucks that cost me next to nothing to buy! I had to put new heads on the Ranger but I knew it (or at least I prepared for it) at time of purchase so it better stay running good!

We’ve been happy.

I’m on my 3rd Ranger - no serious complaints or problems.

My ’88 standard cab short bed 2wd 2.3L was the only one I put serious mileage on (for me - 180k+ before trading). Other than normal maintenance, the ’88 went through 2 water pumps and new a/c dryer with the requisite R134a conversion. Customized the ’88 a bit with a pop up moonroof, bed rails, splash guards, Audiovox built in CB, portable CD player add on and probably a few other things I’ve forgotten.

With the ’01 Extended Cab 4.0L 2wd (traded at 42k miles) and my current ’06 Extended Cab 4.0L 4wd (41k miles currently) I raided the Ford Accessory Catalog for the deluxe floor mats, temp/compass mirror and rear area plastic organizer. On the ’01 I added Trac Lok and fog lamps.

I’m really disappointed Ford isn’t offering the 3.7L Duratech motor in the new Ranger - hoping they change their minds.

Contacting MartyO when I return from my pending trip for a reflash of my Marauder. Ever since the IAC valve and various evap controls were replaced, Marauder revs to 2500 rpm upon startup before settling down to a steady 1,000 rpm or so - a bit much IMO.

I drove the Black Friday purchase 2003 Crown Vic Sport in the snow today and verified it does not have a posi.

Traction control works 👍🏻

I replaced both headlight assemblies & corner light assemblies with aftermarket ones. I ran out of daylight to put on the pre-cut X-pel film on them. Will install them soon, weather permitting.

I bought a brand new 96 Ranger STX. Biggest POS vehicle I ever wasted money on. 6000 miles and traded it in.
Vibrations, electrical issues, water leaks, 6 mpg, none of which the Grand Wizards at Ford could fix.

You know, I was looking for that. I already have the smoked film on my Marauder, but I was thinking of getting the clear on my other cars. Can't seem to find it now for some reason. Did you order it recently or a while ago?

I had purchased them 4-6 weeks ago. The headlight assemblies were the last ones in inventory from Rock Auto dot com.

Ok, I'm an idiot. I was looking in the wrong place on the Xpel site. But here's a photo from 2016 shortly after I got the tinted film installed.

I have my son's old '98 Ranger, standard cab, 5 speed manual, 3.0l. Over 202k miles on it. Added power windows and door locks. Rebuilt the HVAC system. Replaced the timing chain. Has been a good DD.

Looking to get a 2005 extended cab, 5 speed auto, 4.0 with 72k miles or a 2002 extended cab, 4x4, 4.0, 5 speed auto with 92K miles this weekend.

I got a bad apple. Rotten to the core.

Took it to the Christmas lunch party at work yesterday and to dinner tonight.

It’s been sleeping out in the cold garage since mid October and alllllmost started up. I knew by the sound of the fuel pumps this was going to be a definite maybe.. I was lazy and didn’t hook up the tender this year. I was surprised it had enough juice to turn over (slowly) for a few seconds. Quick jump and off we went.
