Lug nuts

I would like to get rid of the crappy caped lug nuts, there are many choices, which have you guys used that look correct. Meaning not too short or to long mostly.

I have The System by Gorilla Locks on all three of my vehicles. There are 20 locks not four. When you get them, spend the $15.00 get the extra key, one to keep at home, one for the car.

This is what Gorilla offers with part numbers.

Gorilla Guard Locks (4 locks, free spinning sleeve on the outside of the lock) - 61681 - Chrome

Gorilla Locks (4 locks) - 71681N - Chrome, 71681NBC - Black Chrome

Gorilla Lock System (20 locks) - 71683N - Chrome, 71683NBC - Black

I purchased a set of blacks from Amazon Warehouse for my Black Marauder. I Moved the silver Gorillas to my Silver Marauder.

I put the Gorilla 'System' on my Marauder, my Fusion Sport and the new wheels on my Ranger.
They have a nice chrome finish and protect my wheels from thieves.
Most scumbags are NOT going to waste their time pounding a cheap socket onto a locking lug when your car has 20 of them!

(The Ranger actually has 24 locking lugs)

Still like Mcgard

If you want the set with the locks you can get #84530CN or #84550 which has new valve stems.

If you don't need locks they sell a box of 100 lugs which covers plenty of cars.

Look at that cute tiny bed . How do you carry your plywood Mr. Joe?

Also. in case you haven't already done so, I would on the first nice weather day you have a few hours of time to kill, clay bar that whole truck. If you don't you will start to notice tiny rust dots all over it. The rust comes from rail dust that impregnates into the paint during transport and becomes obvious on white cars and trucks. Probably happens to others colors as well, but is less apparent. You can clay bar the glass as well.

How goes the 4 eyed Fox project?

Silly Mr.Man...it doesn't haul plywood....it hauls firewood*!
LOTS of firewood, along with towing the log splitter.

Rated for 1850 lbs in the bed.

I clay barred it and waxed it late last Fall berfore the salt hit the roads.

*and with a 93 octane tune in the little 2.3L Ecoboost....it HAULS ASS!

'85 Foxbody build has been on 'HOLD' since last Fall, but will get going again this Summer.

Sorry to the OP for the thread Hijack.....

Back to Lug Nuts!

This is a good reason to use the Gorilla nuts.

If you enjoy a false sense of security, sure.

With ANY Gorilla key, they don't have to. Grind away all but one spline from the key, and you have a tool as good as a socket. Better, actually, because it's impact rated.

They do look really nice, just don't count on them as any sort of security device.
