Here speeder, speeder...

AstroVic

Walking on the Milky Way
One of our more badass patrol cars. (Okay, it's THE BADASS patrol car!) The owner is a member on here, but he mostly lurks and keeps quiet.

His car is just too cool NOT to share it with y'all.

My new black Impala is in the background. Also, it's pine pollen season here. Everything gets coated with a layer of yellow pine pollen dust. Gotta love it!

Beautiful patrol car. Does it have Royal Purple in it? Why take the stock wheels off?

Yes, he uses Royal Purple in it. (Guess who supplies it?) :)

As for the wheels....

1. Steelies make it look more like a patrol car. Less bling factor.
2. Steelies allow him to use more readily available (and less expensive) tires, which he can purchase on the State of Texas contract pricing through Goodyear.
3. Steelies would be less expensive to replace in the case of curb hopping.

I'm sure there are other reasons...

I think it looks badass. :)

Spoiler?

I think it is interesting the unit has a rear spoiler. Does it help with performance/traction? Or is that just how it came?

Here in VT, Constables are elected and use their own cars and are very limited in their duties... Our local Barney Fife has a 97 Crown Vic P71 he bought at a State auction with 100K on it.. Basically he just serves paper...and does traffic duty at incidents until the SP arrives.

Can he mount the trim rings on the wheels? We use them on our cruisers. They make it look pretty cool and they don't cost too much.

Montgomery County sprang the cash for an MM?

Constable's pay for their own cars, but get a yearly car allowance, here in San Antonio they are elected to thier pct. and write traffic tickets, serve papers, and are they love to catch speeders....we have one here that drives a black Marauder but I haven't seen him in about a year.
