V.I.P Parking for DTR's only!!
Does anyone know of a company that sells quality heated seat kits so my tushy can stay warm? If so. Please advise me.

Unfortunately my Marauder doesnt have them:depress:

I will pm you a phone of Company near me that installs them (did mine back in '02) and I am sure you get the kit shipped to you, or ask you local Ford or L&M Dealer who they use for accessory install.

Has anyone tried to convert from non-heated seats to heated seats using the factory parts, is it worth it? I am thinking most of the wiring should already be there, right? I have been toying with this idea for years, every winter I tell myself I am going to look into it. Guess it is not as easy as slipping the heating units into the seats and adding the heated seat switch, huh?

Yes, someone on this forum has...and it wasn't nearly as easy as one might think.
IIRC: The wiring harness are totally different under the seats.
Do a 'SEARCH' for heated seats and you'll find the thread.

I want to convert my '03A to heated seats, but I will most likely go aftermarket as BigDogJim suggested.

There is an after market kit that just fits so nice. No issues with mine since 9/02:up;

Also install remote start good for both winter and summer:) Nothing like get into a cool car in 90* + heat:rofl:

I had my local Ford/Mercury dealer do my install. Well worth it for the 9 months of the years we need them :)

That was me, and it's not just the wiring under the seats. The door panel wiring, power distribution from both fuse boxes, and OSS switch for the airbags are different. Along with the airbag control module. Big pain, but at least I have OEM-style switches for my seat heaters! The same switches that have LED's that fail so frequently.

I would recommend aftermarket, just be sure to get the ones with both bun warmers and lumbar warmers. The factory installed ones have both.

Ahhh....I should have remembered that it was you Brian....you certainly are NOT shy about tackling some complex and difficult projects!....:bows:

I don't suppose you could post a link to that thread? I tried searching, but couldn't find it.

I can't find it either. Maybe I just imagined I posted an instructional thread on it? Or maybe I posted pics without an instructional thread? Anyway, you need a donor car to get all the wiring and connectors from, along with a pair of OEM seats since some of the connectors and wiring are unique to the heated seats. Then you end up with leftover seats that aren't fully functional since the wiring has to be hybridized for the old OSS along with the heated seats which have a different OSS that isn't compatible with the old airbag control module.

I just had very nice sinfgle temp heaters installed here. They cost me 350 for both Driver and passenger seats. If you felt like driving up to Milwaukee for the install, I could gladly PM you the number.

Whatever you do AVOID Erickson Auto Trim in Racine, WI at all costs!!! They almost burnt my car up.
