I was told by a few people that GM is closing down Pontiac today? Is this true? Time to buy a G8 GXP in the next few months they will be 50% off by then! Anyone else heard this?

Sucks man, my first car was a Pontiac Grand Prix, they have made reliable stuff for a long time. They finally started getting serious about performance witht the GTO and now the G6 and G8 and even the Solstice. And BAM! GAWN!

Hmmm I think it might be time to look into the G8 GXP 6spd that I've been wanting to get since I first read about it.

Sure looks like Pontiac is slipping into a black hole. Oh the shame, and the pain. :bigcry: but they already did away with the Trans Am , so let um burn.

We parked in front of some G8 guys at the UMCP Carshow...cool guys...with cool cars.
I think all us Marauder guys said...IF we had the money a G8 would be the next car to get.

I would get a G8.
Yep me too, I would daily drive the hell out of that bish lol.

screw that i wouldnt b uy one, what about parts?????
It's a GM vehicle a lot of parts are already used on other vehicles plus it's only Pontiac that will go down, not Holden which will still be around. Be kind of like Fast and Furious with overnighting parts from "Down Under" lol.

What do you want to bet that the G8GT/GXP will end up being next year's Buick GNX with the way GM rebrands everything? It could work!

So, let me get this straight.......................

Pontiac goes down and BUICK and GMC are still here?!? WTF.

Buick should go before Pontiac and GMC should go in favor of Chevrolet.

SMOOTH MOVE!!

I'm a little sorry to see another great American brand gone forever. Unfortuately, GM didn't really do much to stop their bleeding when they had the chance to, and here they are. What really astonishes me is that they still haven't cut the GMC division. I've never understood why GM continues to keep this division. Both Ford and Dodge learned years ago there's no need to two truck divisions. I can only imagine how much it costs to attempt to brand the same truck two different ways. I think even the most ardent GM supporter would agree that the only difference between these trucks is the sticker on the grill, the horn and the tailgate!
