underdrive pulleys

Whoa there, big stallions...

I didn't think there would be much interest and I was half jokingly throwing this out there. Were I serious and had them off the car I would have put them up in the classifieds.

As it is, there is a member who has emailed me twice about them and when I take them off in two weeks or so, he has first shot at them.

Again sorry for the confusion, but I didn't think this would be such a big draw. New ones aren't that expensive. Go grab a set!

After seeing this post and doing some research I think I may pick one of these bad boys up. Theres only one thing making me hesitant. Do any of you think the kit will cause me any problems with drawing power? My stereo has 500watt amp for my subs. Also the bundle of LED warning light equipped on my car?

You probably will have to compensate (Raise)with the idle setting within your tune.

I never did UDP on the Marauder when I had it, but I do remember reading that you should only use the Steeda pulleys to be safe.

That being said, I do have a set of Steeda UDP that are going on the Crown Vic on Friday. I was not sure if I wanted to do the alternator pulley or not, but everyone I talked to said I should be fine running it with my stereo setup and as others have said can bump the idle rpm via the XCal2 if I need to.

Looking forward to seeing the results. I remember doing an underdrive crank pulley on my '93 Z28 and while maybe not more powerful, it did seem to allow the engine to rev freer.

Good luck in your decision.

I thought the March performance set were better than steeda. They are filled with a silicone type of fluid and are SFI approved.

You can "rent" a pulley puller for free at AutoZone.

You should purchase a new crank bolt from Ford or ARP as they are only suppose to be used once.

For those of you with triliogy you can "Overdrive" the crank by installing a larger harmonic balance.

Last thought: premature oil pump fail with smaller harmonic balancer? Paranoid?
