-Matt-

Ceiling Cat Is Watching You...
So i cant take full credit for this, I followed some of what RR/Suki did on his Marauder, but i added some twists of my own....

I think it came out nice :)

man, I've been wanting to do this type of mod for so long, but I feel too scared to pull off the shifter bezel. How do you get that thing off?

And where did you get a shifter boot that fit that size? Is the center cap on the shifter handle the lockout button? So many questions I have. :P

Shifter bezel pops straight off

Shifter boot, i used a 05 mustang boot

Yes its the lock out

Unless your hooking up working missiles to it, YOU FAIL!!

That looks really cool actually. Im not sure if I would install it in my car, but I do like the look.

all the buttons are functional fool! if it were legal i would have missles and get to work in like 10 mins, blasting fools out my way

So do you have to count the number of pulls to put it in drive? I noticed the gear selector indicator is gone.

I'm still amazed and curious how you got the boot to fit so flush and clean in there. How is it secured under there?

pull the center console out and the whole thing will become very clear. Pulling the center takes all of 5 minutes

What condition is the shifter bezel in? I have a member here who would buy it if it is in mint condition.

MrBluGruv ... How do you get that thing off?
  • move the shift lever to 1(st) *in preparation for the next step.
  • grasp the guage pod by both sides and pull-up-and-out. *IIRC, the wires should(?) be long enough to set the unit to one side ... otherwise, disconnect the wires.
  • move the shifter forward to (say) neutral.
  • push-down on the plastic collar under the shifter handle. *It will slide-down, just takes a little effort.
  • there are two allen-head set screws on the back of the shifter shaft that need to be removed to get the handle off.
  • slowly lift-up on the handle and keep (say) your thumb on the selector button (so's not to jetison the button and spring. :D)
  • disconnect the O/D wire which is tucked-up in the shifter.
  • the upper console panel can now be removed by pulling-on on the panel. *IIRC, I started from the front.
  • you'll need to disconnect light from the bottom of the assembly.
