  • You got the "old fart" right (at least feeling that way lately). Me - new 20YO GF (5years ago), heart surgery (2years ago), CrownVic' in accident (last year), got (more) fat over the past year ...

Will give you a shout sometime in Jan. Until then, take care.
Just had to take some off of the case by the motor, No other mods were done. The car is a blast to drive with tons of power. The big issue was finding someone who could tune and wire the motor. That was seven grand! With some other tweaks the next year the car ran 13.51. This is not a cheap project.
Thanks for your help. I guess that it worked at last? Can you tell me what it was like to drive after the new engine was installed? I am seeking a bit of motivation because the shop has had me wait 7 years already and is asking me to remove the car! I live oveseas in Europe right now. I am visiting them in Vermont on Monday and have to negogiate them continuing the installation or I will need to haul the car and engine South of Boston.

I may be more complicated that my current shop wants to go. Cutting and boxing the front crossmember isn't so problematic for them, they do frame up restorations. but I don't think they're up to modding the heater and a/c because they are Mopar mostly and not into Fords, especially the owner dislikes Panthers and calls my Vic a Town Car.

Do you recall what you did about the heating/ac? Was it only the tubing that had to be changed? Thanks again for your help !
We had to cut and box the front crossmember if I remember right and had to modify the heater/ac.
    Hi Pops,

I am kind of stuck in my project.
RF Overlord in the Crownvic forum suggested I contact you.
He said you successfully put a Marauder engine in an AERO bodied car

I have been trying to get a shop for the past few years to install a new Marauder engine in my Aero body 1993 Crown Vic. I am very attached to the car I bought new and drove in Europe for 15 years. I want to give it an honorable retirement as a vintage Hot Rod, like ranchers who put their favorite horse out to pasture in the nicest part of the valley.

Here are links to threads giving a history of my adventure:

My problem at this stage is physically fitting the engine into the engine bay.

    Thanks in advance !

I have been trying to coax a shop for the past few years to install a new Marauder engine in my Aero body 1993 Crown Vic LX. I am very attached to the car I bought new and drove in Europe for 15 years. This is why I want to give it an honorable retirement as a Hot Rodded CV LX. Kind of like ranchers who put their favorite horse out to pasture in the nicest part of the valley.

    John,

Haven't seen you on the net much lately (I should talk!) and hope you are well. Wondered if you have a recommendation for a replacement radio for the marauders. Both went out within two months of the other (this radio portion, CDs still play fine). I do like to listen to local radio around town.

Not looking for anything uber-fancy, ideally something I can plug and play with current speakers, etc. Give me a price. I need Two!

When the new motor goes in mine it will run with that one Rex. It would have been fun to play with him even though he is a lot faster.
Hey John, the T-Bolt at SSHS 12 was running mid to high 10's, really hooked coming off the line. I think he was running an auto trans, that, or he was one of the fastest shifters I've ever seen.... :D
Yeah we'll be up there. Gonna stay at his brothers place in decatur. Think we'll be up there Wednesday night.
Sounds good! Thanks! He was in Little Rock at one this morning. Said he drove 1100 miles!!!!!!
