I have used a Garmin Street Pilot III for about three years and recently upgraded to a 2720. The new unit is excellent. Specifically, the screen is very clear even in a sunny day. The unit allows many settings depending on your needs. For example, the screen changes mainly to words when the...
As the extended warranty is between you and Ford (not exclusively the dealer), it is highly likely that Ford itself will refund the money. This seems especially true as the warranty is transferrable by FORD to a subsequent owner.
If you wrapped the financing of the warranty into the car...
The blue is a great looking color. Unlike some complaints about black, my blue paint has held up very well. It is unlikely that you will see another one on the road. I still do not know why Ford made such a small amount with this color.
The bald rear tires do not necessarily reflect hard driving. For most people, the rear tires wear out at around 15-20K. Search the threads for many discussions on the topic. One common suggestion is to raise the air pressure to 35 or a little higher.
I would like to second the RF Overlord's...
Warning--syntax discussion. The suggested question to elicit one problem is: What was your WORST (rather than worse) problem? This may avoid a laundry list of problems. My answer is radio reception which was fixed with replacement radio. No problem has hindered getting to and from desired...
Either the am band or fm band (sometimes both) will have very weak reception. In fact, one or both of the bands will have only static. The problem can come and go. The volume sometimes has to be increased to hear a station. The cd and tape deck were unaffected.
The replacement is the same radio as before--except the replacement works properly. The steering wheel controls work, the trunk cd works, and the buttons are the same.
I went to the dealer on March 9, 2006 to discuss a reception problem with the factory radio. The radio repairman was very aware about the reception problems with these radios. He immediately ordered a replacement under the basic factory warranty--without even listening to the radio:) ...
I have also have trouble logging in. A message similar to "page cannot be displayed" shows on screen. This happens either using an Apple or PC. Problem occurs whether using dial-up or dsl. Logging-in problems exist with Safari and Firefox for Apple; IE and Firefox for PC. The problem is not...
Investigate a company BEFORE signing the contract. Look up the company at www.epinions.com. Make sure to confirm whether your intended company's name is "A Florida Direct USA Auto Transport." Look for the company under the "moving companies" category. Also, contact the Florida Consumer Affairs...
There is an article in March 2006 Hemmings Motor News (page 28) entitled "Sleepers 2006." The subtitle is "the top ten collector cars of the future." The 1984-85 Ford LTD LX is listed and described. Specifically for your needs, the article states "Just 3,260 of these rolled off the assembly...
I have been using Carfixer's specs since replacing the front tires 12,000 miles ago. The front tires are wearing well. I do not notice any handling or ride deterioration using Carfixer's specs.
Quality equals reliability. My 2003 has always started, arrived at its destination, and returned home. I can rely on the car to get me there and back. What else do you really need? Maybe some vroom, handling, and comfort. The car has these attributes also. A superior automobile even with...
According to BF Goodrich customer service at 877-788-8899, the factory size for the rear tire 245-55-18 is still available. (The BF Goodrich site is in error when it states that the size is no longer available). The original part number for the tire was 96247. The new part number is 40913...
Hello Mard, glad to hear the advice worked. I would not recommend having the dealer change the part unless the noise comes back. (Assuming you are under warranty for awhile, you can always change the part later during the warranty period). Changing the part may cause another problem--you never...
Directedby,
Is it possible that the squeak is from the hood latch area rather than the front suspension? You may want to raise the small bumper stops that touch the inside of the hood. Also, a little grease on the latch may help.
Mard, I read your response about the metal file not working. Try to wedge a piece of cardboard--or a shim--between the bolt and frame. If this works, you know the cause of the squeak.
I have not heard of a broken weld but it could be true. Did you remove some of the lower leather trim on the seat to inspect the bolt touching the frame? You may also want to sit in the seat and rock from side to side. If you hear the squeak rocking side to side, it may the bolt against the...
