Oh and your FAIL burnout? Or lack of :D

Oh and BTW, who the hell has that annoying laugh???

Oh and another side note! That was my 13.6 run and I smoked that mustang with his big 13.9. Could you have done that?:P

On the last yellow of the tree.;)

I'm getting kind of confused here. From what I gather, there are 3 launching techniques that can be used. Mashing the gas, which is obvious. On the last yellow, take foot off brake and floor the gas pedal. Then there is preloading the TC. While holding the brake, rev the engine up to a certain RPM (use different RPMs every time out and find out what works best for your vehicle). Then there is flashing the TC. It has been stated that flashing the TC involves flooring the gas pedal once while still holding the brakes. It has also been stated that this should be done on the last yellow. So if this is done on the last yellow, I'm assuming you'd want to let off the brake at the same time. So how is this method any different than technique 1, mashing the gas?

And babbage, it's a 3200 stall PI. Hope to test it out soon once it gets dry.

On the last yellow just mash the gas with no brake. Flashing the convertor is just mashing the gas. You made it more confusing.

Mashing (v.) - Violently stabbing the gas pedal with ones foot in such a way that the gas pedal is bottomed out or "floored" in the shortest amount of time possible.

Ok, I get it. The method known as "mashing the gas" is the same as flashing the converter. Thanks.

Now, with my 3200 stall converter, should I try preloading and if so, at what RPM should I try? I tried 1500 once with no converter and stock 5 year old tires. I fish tailed and had to brake to regain control. Needless to say, my time that run sucked! I have now updated to Nitto 420s, but havent been to the track since they've been on.

I have nitto 420s and they hook great at the track for a NA car. Just stomp the pedal off idle, thats how you flash, any type of rev is preloading.

Heading out to a test and tune in Moorhead in an hour or two. Ran consistent 14.5-14.6 first time racing mine a few weeks back... preloading w/ headlight in and side mirrors out. Also had 91 octane on the 93 octane tune.
Found a place in town w 92 Octane so Im hoping that helps a bit. I'm going to try to mix it up with some preload and mashing the gas runs and will also do the headlight in and out and see if I can match the .2 sec difference posted here. Wishing there was anouther MM or two up here to go play with....

Back when cars were made from American iron...we used to "drop them" put it in neutral, wind her up, and drop it... into drive.
Some one please try this and report back.
Is there a fine at the track for leaving pieces or parts behind?

i would not recommend doing this, lol.

babbage goes to esta

Welp I was there! So was Ray. Great day. I could only manage to squeeze out a 14.6! I thought for sure I'd be faster with 3.73's and a spacer. It was a lot hotter today than when I went in April.

I think I need to get a dyno tune next for sure.

I ran better Sunday than I did at MVV, but I need to get my chip recalibrated for the 4.10 gears. I'm using a tune purchased from another Member here and its not as aggressive as my chips dyno tune. We had a good time. Too bad they run their test&tunes so infrequently. :(

So what you run Ray??

I think I'm gonna go 60mm Accufab + EMP Pump + Dyno tune for my next mods.

The marauders didn't disappoint yesterday! I beat (2) different Ricers and a Chevelle, Ray lost one off the line but ran him down in the end!

I beat my buddy in his chevelle (350) the first time, but he ran (2) 14.2 slips after that - killing my times.

It was fun! Thanks for coming out Ray!! I think we'll have a bigger turn out in October.

Dont waste your money on the above parts.
Buy a set of Headers, it will yield the best performance.

With a car thats already dyno tuned, will putting on headers monkey up the tune? I have the stock exhaust and when dyno tuned, HPP found another 40HP in the midrange which really amazed me and totally changed the personality of the car. How much HP gain would be expected on an NA car from headers? Can you also run the rest of the stock exhaust then or is the cost of the headers just the beginning?

The problem here is that the dyno tuner I worked with was down in Texas and I'm now up in the middle of nowhere ND. I found that there's a dyno shop about 3 hours south of here so in time it may not be an issue. With limited funds to play with I know I need the slicks or I'm going to run out of rubber on the Nittos...I've also been told that going with the elecric water pump can bump another 25HP...
