#2 knock sensor

Hello Gentlemen, hope you’re having a great day so far!

a few weeks ago I had misfire on Cylinder #2. I want to head and replaced all the spark plugs and coil caps And the car drove great for the next three days. On the fourth day of driving the vehicle kind of started bucking especially as you were adding pressure on the gas peddle. I hooked it up to my computer and it informed me the number two knock sensor was bad.

I understand these things happen especially with older vehicles but my question is this, is it possible that I caused this issue with the #2 knock sensor during the spark plug removal and replacement? All I did was change the spark plugs and caps I didn’t get into anything more.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks for your time, fellows.

Did you replace all 8 coils and boots?
Sometimes the coil wire harness clips fail and can wiggle loose, did you zip tie each harness plug to each coil?

Well I originally replaced everything. But the next day the misfire continued so I was told to go back to my original cops with the new spark plugs and that solve the problem of the misfire. I wasn’t aware zip tying anything in there while I was doing it Although I did feel like some of the wires were a bit loose fitting. So I guess my next bet is to go back in and zip tie everything tight.

I’m not exactly sure Whete these zip ties go But I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Is there any worries of the plastic zip ties melting do the engine heat?

Well I dug into it and everything is nice and tight the way it’s supposed to be with no broken tabs or anything. I’m starting to think the #2 knock sensor is something unrelated to changing out the plugs.

If anybody has any further suggestions please send them my way as I’m still learning how to wrench on these cars.
Thanks!

Your computer didn’t tell you it’s bad, more than likely it told you that it did it’s job and is warning you. I’d be checking the injectors next.
