2003 Marauder for Sale

FWIW----Butch from the Carolina Marauders just put his on the market--see related post threads---and his is about the same --maybe better--and has only 20K miles and only asking $20K--you may want to reconsider--if I had to choose--guess where they would go--..just my .o2c ..Tom

Hey Tom; yes, I saw his post, and even dropped a comment or two back to Butch.

I'd say his MM is a gem from the description, worth every penny of what he is asking, and you for sure have personal knowledge on this.

And, I re-think stuff all the time, so I take your observation in the spirit in which it was intended. I believe we under-value our MMs, being too close to be fully objective, and with the market for everything, especially autos, having well and truly tanked, it’s understandable. Patience is a virtue, and Butch appears to have an ample supply, and I am right there with him.

Thanks Tom,

South Hills

I too appreciate your comments and where your coming from---not saying to lower yours--just realize how those elsewhere are putting theirs "out there"--and how it may effect yours----cause if you needed to sell quick or not----your right --location and the economy and your specific situation does say it all--was hoping to enlighten you and I did----hope all works out for you--Tom

Hey Tom:

Thank you, and I just realized our MMs were built on back-to-back days in June of 2002. Outstanding!

So... you believe it is worth LESS than what you think?

KillJoy

Hey KillJoy, I mean my opinion is that they have more value than what is commonly thought here, thus "we under-value." Perhaps I miss-typed something at some point, in which case I am sure you will coach me up.

Ok...ok...nice car; but can I just have a full sized image of your Avatar???
Mmmmmm...convertible (oh ya...the door ornament...mmmmm).

Your Trilogy MM looks very nice, you sell it for what you want, ignore all the haters.

or be intelligent and listen to them... if you want to sell your car, you have to place it at the right price, to COMPETE with others. not sit around and lolly gag and yank eachothers woohoos until someone decides to pay more for the same thing.

GL with your sale.

You know, I appreciate the GL. Thank you. And, to your comment before it, I really could care less if someone buys my car, or not, and I am certainly not interested in competing with the lowest common denominator on price. Really, if someone sees the value I am asking, and plunks-down the cash, I then have a new problem; how do I to replace it. I have not given that issue any serious thought at all.

I have shown the car three times since I listed it, and I declined an offer yesterday of $21K even. I have also received calls from interested parties that, for different reasons, I decided to dismiss as potential buyers. So, time will tell the story here, and, again, I really am completely ambivalent as to whether it sells or not. In the detailing run-up to get it to “showing” condition, I remembered quite clearly the reasons I have held on to the car for such a long time, at least for me. It’s a very rare beast, and the day of the true four-door American muscle car is setting, I think, quickly.

We still have a free country, sort of, so to each his own is still okay, right? We may need to mount the horses and ride to the sound of the guns someday, but I sure hope that this is not the case.

In the seven years I have owned the MM, it's been a great, unique car that I have always been very happy and proud to own. I stopped doing mods about four years ago, because, in my opinion (and believe me I'm not trying to stir the pot here), it was perfect, and anything else I could do would be just very marginal at best, related to appearance and performance. I am sure everyone that owns a MM and has done their own thing, whatever that is, gets the same stuff I get, all the time; “wow, what is that”, “cool car man”, “I have never seen one of those”, “man, that car is bad-ass”, etc. I’d like someone who owns one of these things to tell me they have never heard words to that effect; I think the silence will tell the story.

In summary, thanks for the coaching, but I am marching to a different drummer.

if you declined an offer

If you declined an offer of $21,000 please call that guy and tell him he can have mine for $18,000 and either free trailered delivery or plane fare to the midwest to pick it up....
(In fact, with the market the way it is, I have to give you a commission for finding the buyer, name your finder fee price.)

Earlier in the POST I described mine...perfect paint and interior...TRILOGY, SS LONG TUBE HEADERS, $3000 Pioneer GPS stereo, and a whole bunch of other mods (except the widened wheels)...and 17,000 garaged miles (never raced, abused, floored, or snowed on).

Just send me a PM if you are interested, I have to buy you dinner also. I am not in a hurry to sell, but for that money (and my savings), I can buy a new Town Car "L" and see about switching engines and other goodies before they stop making nineteen feet of American body on frame steel.

Cassidy:

This gentleman is interested in a S/C MM, obviously, and is still very much "in-play." Once I'm done, and have either sold my car or not, if he's not already the proud owner of a MM, I'll be happy to point him in your direction. Your car sounds very nice, BTW.

I should know what I am or am not doing by this time next week.

Your car is not worth what you have invested in it. PERIOD. Very few are. IMO, if you turned down that, you are a fool.

Still, GL on it's sale. If you are that firm on it's price, it will be available for a LONG time.
