2014 5.8 SC engine

I have seen the 2014 Shelby GT500 engines sold for around 15k plus at ebay. Here in Mexico, I have a person who is selling me a complete one with tranny, computer and harness for 6,500 almost new.

My MM is immaculate, and ripping it out makes me think twice, and I am planning on adding a SC in a few months. The price of the SC is exactly the same (once imported to Mexico) as what the 5.8 SC 32v 662hp engine cost me.

Changing the entire engine makes me think 3 times. I am not sure if the auto stock tranny from the MM will fit the 5.8 and if it does, I guess it will need to be reinforced, but I am scared also of electronics.

If everything would work perfectly, it means aproximate 200 more hp than SC with stock engine right? I am guessing that it could lose control while shifting at WOT.

Any taughts?

Fit issue will be one with the wiper cowl, brake booster, steering, hood etc . Not saying it can't be done, just not a drop and swap

Sell the 2014 engine, which will be an entirely new ordeal to swap in - no parts for the swap, and use profit to add a supercharger to your MM the traditional, parts are available way.

Fitment would be a pain. I would sell the 5.8 and build the motor/ trans in your mm. It would definitely be a unique and cool swap though, like the 6.2l swapped fox body.

Zack, how about electronics and tranny? I am pretty sure that a hole must be made on the hood, but that won´t be much trouble. I just don´t want to end up messing the car and fail on the try, as it is pristine. I will regret that for my entire life. If there´s a high risk of failure, I will definetly take the SC route with the stock engine.

The trans from a '12 5.4 fits. Zero regrets and mine was pristine. Now it's more pristine with balls..

Zero regrets.
