245/55-18

crouse

I know nothing
The Tire Rack and Discount Tires web sites no longer list the 245/55-18 BFGoodrich KDWS tire. The BFGoodrich web site still lists it though. I was told by BFG that the rears would be available again in May or June of 2009. I wonder if they removed this size from their web sites until they are available again.

I was told by a discounttiredirect guy they only make them in March i believe and once they are sold out they dont post them online anymore

Here is an e-mail from BFG. This sucks.

Time to go shopping for some aftermarket 255/55/18's.

I don't mind using aftermarket rears, just wish I could find a tire brand besides BFG that has both front and rear size tires that match. Never have been a fan of mixing different front and rear brands of tires, but it looks like BFG is going to force me to.

Plus 2 on this.

I don't know why so many people cry about the stock 245's. Let's face it, they SUCK! Do yourself a favor, go up a notch in the back width wise, and get some better tires on there.

Looks like Goodyear Eagle F-1 has 245/50's at 27.7" and 255/55's at 29"

That is in good perspective to the 27.2" and 28.5" fo OEM.

Not sure what the concensus is on F-1's is....

Price ain't bad at 169 for rears, but fronts at 224 ?????

Hi All,
We'll I have rears on B/O with Tire Rack. They started saying they would be shipped the end of Nov. They can't give a date any longer. I purchased the fronts from them. I can return the unused fronts and make a switch to the Goodyears. Any one using them? Any do you like the tire?
Cheers, Terry

I bought Continentals, I think that you can buy two sizes, that will work together, the size I bought has better numbers than the BFG's. I will never give bfg my money again.

Do 29 inch tall tires play well with the 27.2 inch tall front tires? Not sure how far outside of perameters we can go.

I have a 300A, no traction control, my 285/50's are 29.3" tall, and I never have a problem. These are only about .600" taller than stock. I am eventually going to put a larger front on, and them drop the car about an inch.

Because I also changed the aspect ratio, the tire is only about .6" taller, and in 10 miles, the speedo was only off 2.5 tenths.
