36 Month Warranty FAQ?

The last thing I heard was that no one knew what was covered on the 36 month warranty. If that's true, then maybe we should start a FAQ or parts list of things that are covered.

I just found out this week from my dealer that fog lights are covered (if you get water in them) under the 36 month warranty. I was about to purchase one ($50+) when the lady in the parts department said that it should be covered.

Also, I'll try to remember when I take my car in next Monday to ask the service guy for a list or some other documentation on the 36 month warranty.

Going by memory here, can't get out to my MM just this second. The salesdrone at the dealership slurred his way through the warranty book and stuffed it into the same zip up binder my owners manual is in. Did you get one of these?

Also... the '03 warranty is different from the '04.

Are you looking to take those documents and boil them down into a FAQ of some kind?
 
Correct me if I'm wrong....but...I thought it is 3 year/36K (whichever comes 1st) Bumper to Bumper. Only exclusion is tires which supposedly have a separate warranty. And, I'm doing the ESP...got the price just yesterday...just have14K miles to wait till I fork over the dough.

Todd, is that how you do it . . . kind've wait until the original warranty is almost up?

It cost you an extra $100 for being over 12 mos./12K miles...but you get to keep the $1000 or so until it's 2 years+364 days or 35,999 miles. I'd rather keep the money in my pocket till then...just my personal choice.

I think it goes bumper to bumper. Of course, there's the excusions of normal wear and tear, and if you happen to break something due to accient/abuse.
 
36/36 Bumper to Bumper. Except tires and normal maint. and wear items such as brakes. Brakes would be covered for noise but not wear.
 
I got the 6/75,000 factory bumper to bumper extended warranty when I purchased my MM. You can upgrade from the 3/36 anytime within the original warranty. Financialy Todd is using his money better than I did but, I don 't trust manufacturers to keep their warranties the same . I have been burned befiore when they changed the rules half way down the river and there was nothing I could do but, grin and bare it.
 
I got the 6/75000 Premium extended as well. I decided that a single unexpected repair would easily cost more than the cost of the warranty and forked it over.

It was in the generic documentation - one of the color inserts with the manual. It is a broad statement about 36 month bumper-to-bumper warranty.

I guess I was too excited (and still am) to read the documentation.

I went ahead and opted for a Ford premiumcare ESP for 6yrs/100k miles on my phantom Marauder, but you have to be aware that although the premiumcare ESP is one of the most complete extended warranties out there, there are a few exclusions here and there and is not really "bumper-to-bumper."


Speaking of a phantom Marauder, I wonder where in the hell is it..............
