whats the brake pedal?
ok so recently ive come across a 89 fox body 5.0 that looks to be a promising subject for an experiment of mine,im getting the car for free and want to know how much power i can push out of that 5.0 with the STOCK block,anyone that can help me out with this go ahead also build sheets would be nice out of you guys that might have fox bodies as a drag or back up car.
 
I am rebuilding one now. Search to Mustang sites, this question will likely ignite a flame war. Mine is a dove gray 89 GT. Just rebuilt the motor, trans, etc and got her running. still fine tuning a couple of bugs out, then its on to the suspension.

i now have a gloss black 89 GT its has exhaust work and i think 4.11 gears because once i get up into the 40-50mph range it way up in the RPMs so im going to fix that. I think im going to set this car up for street and strip and drift racing.
 
Have some friends pushing 800+ on stock blocks. A trip to your friendly local dragstrip should yeild a plethera of info. I'd be willing to bet 50% of the full bodied cars out there are running one.
 
We routinely run 450 through them with decent longevity.

We have one customer who puts down 560 but it is a ticking time bomb of he plans on flogging it.

The blocks will split.
 
ok so around 400hp is a promising street/strip car that will whoop up on a 5.7 ls1 swapped iroc camaro possibly? cuz i got my ass handed to me by him over the weekend but thats in a 5.0 with CAI,flowmasters and -cough cough-its an auto. My 5.0 is a 5speed with 4.11s so around 400hp will jump him and ill just keep pullin right?

Ford does not have 4.11 gears... It's 4.10 gears.

sorry im on my tab and its a "werty" keyboard with 0-10 at the top of it i just noticed that thanks. but i should still pull him right? Oh alil update i have a BBK intake manifold,mac underdrives,and ford racing x303 cam on the way for this lil 5.0 but the bbk is out of stock and so is the cam so IDK when im getting them dad ordered them today cant wait :D.
