ok .... i tried to repair my EATC with the o-ring solution, but it did not work. I have vaccum coming from black hose( if i wasn't getting vaccum from black hose could it be the check valve? or do i need to go ahead and replace?) any suggestions would be helpful, its in the upper 90's in Alabama. ..................My problem is ac blowing through defrost only

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Since there is no vacuum to the EATC it's in fail-safe mode. Need to trace that black hose. There should be a check valve but that won't be the problem. I'd check the vacuum tank on the left front inner fender (it's the square flat box). Look for broken, pinched and other defect in the vacuum hose.

I just stepped outside and ran car for a couple of seconds and turned it off and released hose from black box and there was a lot of vaccum escaping..... Thanks for the quick reply!

I can also hear vacuum escaping from the EATC.... So I'm thinking I might have broke a new silicone o-ring while trying to put it on... So I think I'm going to redo the installation during my lunch break and make sure I don't damage the rings

There was also a post about the vacuum manifold inside the EATC being cracked. The poster fixed it with hot-melt glue...

just went out to give it a try.......did not put new rings in yet but reversed the red connector now when i press the max ac it blows hard out of floor.( hit other buttons it still goes to defrost) does it matter if the solenoids get reversed by mistake?

Yes it does.

Alright!... I finally got it fixed... The problem was one little actuators( the first thing that goes in before the spring) was reversed..... Thanks mm.net for saving me an expensive repair bill that would happen again. All I can say is look twice before you clamp the tabs down
