Bad sound from engine

Didn't you say in the video: "exhaust leak"? Or did I imagine that and the smoke coming up from #1/2 cylinders? :D An exhaust leak can sound like a bad bearing VERY easily. Is it worse when the engine is cold and gets a bit quieter as the engine warms up? Rev it up, does it sound better or worse?

For the most part it's the same

Sounds like a diesel engine. The engine compartment looks awfully wet. Beaded water on the battery, coolant reservoir, radiator shroud, and front cover. Hoses and tubes look wet too. Steam coming from the valve covers and block. How did this happen? Don't think I have ever seen my under hood area that wet even when running 300 miles in heavy rains. I am thinking that you have moisture in some of the connectors and maybe under the coil covers, MAF and air box. Low air flow or high moisture levels in that air ???

Raining for 3 days and 100% humidity and frost on motor

Try running the motor without the FEAD belt to see if the sound is internal or external. Use a mechanic's stethoscope to try to localise the sound.

Pull the serpentine belt off just to eliminate the accessories. Although I am afraid that is not a noise from an accessory. Good luck with your findings and post back.

sounds like valve train clatter as it is pretty rythmic with engine idle...Not sure about these cars so much, but I have seen before water pump impellers rotted off and clunk around, but they tend to overheat since the impeller isn't pushing the water thru.

What is the FEAD belt we've taken the serpentine belt off and it sounds louder without the alternator and other stuff running
