Best product for renewing leather seats?

Howdy All,

Any obvious selections for freshening my leather seats? The driver's seat is starting to look a little stiff and dried out...

I have never had leather sets before and I only know about the "old fashioned" way to clean leather with saddle soap and some kind of oil.

Saddle Soap and Mink Oil are the best, and they are a lot of work.

You can also used Leather Wipes from Meguiars.
I used them about every three months and they keep the seats looking fresh.

I ordered the 100-pack of leather wipes from Griot's. It is the same leather care product in a convenient wipe.

I hope they get here quick. If not, the Meguires leather wipes look cool...

:cool: The leather wipes are good. Easy use of application and they do work. Only downside is your seats are slippery "as hell" for the next three days. After that they go back to normal...just be prepared.
 
Zymol has a set, I haven't seen it sold seperatley but I got it a year or so ago when someone got me a complete Zymol car care kit for Christmas. Didn't use the leather stuff until I got the MM. It was a 2 part system, a liquid cleaner/prep, and a more lotion-like rub-in conditioner.

I think the key to some of the conditioners is to apply when the seats are hot. So I tpyically turn the car on and run the heater a while. Makes you sweat when applying it but seems to allow the conditioner to work better. (It's on the instrucitons of the Zymol bottle.)

I've also used the Armor All leather conditioner, I like that too, it's cheap and seems to work well.

Cocoa Butter

I have been using Cocoa Butter on my leather seats for years. You won't find it in the Auto supply store but in the beauty supply section of the grocery store.

I started using it when I heard about how pregnant women put it on their tummies to keep down stretch marks.

I started using it on my leather seats and it works great. It's easy to put on, is low cost and makes the leather feel like butter. It also makes the car smell good for a few days.

What I do is put the car in the sun for a little while so the leather is good and warm. Using a soft rag I liberally apply the cocoa butter into the leather. I let it sit in the sun a while longer and the leather just sucks it right in.

I used it on my BMW for 10 years and when I sold it the leather was in excellent condition.
 
I use lexol myself, takes all the marks off the Light grey seats.

On my moms S430 I have been using Connoly Hide Food and it holds up very well.
