Big Brakes on a not-so-big Budget? YEP

Don't these Advance rotors/pads carry a lifetime warranty?

Yes. I also use them and the rotors on my work E250. With it always fully loaded, constantly cut off in traffic, and me driving, I can vouch its a no questions asked warranty..

I only tried them on my stuff because I get home delivery and it's convenient. Simply put I expected average and the results far exceeded that, even on old unturned rotors.

I have the old KVRs on my front as well thus following this thread. The calipers are 2004 Corvette, I'm still trying to find out what the rotors are from - they seem to be possibly from a 2001 Porsche - maybe the SUV.

Zack,

Still driving around with my KVR front and rear brake mod setup with 26K on the odometer and appox 12K on the brake system. Realizing that I'm on borrowered time with this setup, do I have the option of re-building this setup and where do I obtain the caliper re-build kits, rotors, pads, etc?
Incidentally, I flush system once a year and pads have virtually no wear on them.

Thanks,
Donald (drobin

You have a 2 piece rotor IIRC

So, I might've missed the answer, but who already did a budget big brake kit for 02- cars?

Only kit i know of is the $3500 stillen kit.

I'm also reasonably sure I know the answer to this, but any chance of developing some to work on 02- panthers as well? I know the market isn't as big as it is for the 03+/Marauder, but you could probably sell a few of them

Your first question did not specify a budget brake kit.

I have a 93 Town Car I'm building this winter. l'll eventually look into the brakes on that, but that is at the bottom of my priority list.
Back on track now...

And what I would love would be a caliper like the Willwoods where you can pull the pads from the top without having to remove the caliper to change pads. I run a lot of Auto Cross events and changing pads is time consuming.

Great / This is the way Jaguar S type R's are made:burnout:

Hi Zack, Just wondering if this question got answered? I also have the TCE brake lines.

Already answered that. No.
However, I did not physically bolt up the line and try to position it. I set it in place during a mockup and it didnt look promising.

As FBM said, the wildwood calipers do that.

Pretty much all modern fixed caliper brake pads can be serviced without removal of the caliper.

While that may be true, these cars have floating caliper(s), and to use fixed on the rear of a solid axle car, requires some machine work to keep the axles fixed with minimal runout.

Zack said he exclusively uses NAPA brake parts. I don't use NAPA for anything unless it's a last resort. I'm not looking for used brakes, or the cheapest. I'm shopping around, because I'm not made of money and if I can drop the price on this by $50-100, guess what? That's $50-100 I can put toward something else I might need or want.

Either way, it's dialogue about a project that is currently in development. Dialogue that might help some other people who aren't made of money.

You wanna compare me to someone else? For reference, I paid for every car I've owned. I've never put kerosene in any of my cars. I've never detailed them with Windex, and I've never had to replace a motor...and I almost always spin my own wrenches, even when a repair is out of my comfort zone. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I run full syn at 3000 intervals with a FL820S. Capiche?

Either way, from the original post:

I don't remember singling you out......

You know what they say, the one's worried about it are the one's that are doing it...... just sayin' :D

I bled the brakes again and the pedal is still meh. The pedal wasn't so good to start though.
I need to have the brakes bled with a scan tool that cycles the abs pump.
I'll drive it again tomorrow if the weather is good
