WOW...That's my car, Charlie. Those pictures are from Friday because the yellow show picture tag is still in place under my freshly purchased MOTORCRAFT wiper blade.

Interesting story is that I had a separated wiper blade that was discovered Thursday night when I was leaving for Carlisle. A quick search turned up Family Ford right in Carlisle, so I headed over there first thing on Friday morning. Jim in parts took my advance phone call, and said to come right over and he would have the blades ready for me.

Family Ford was less than a three mile ride away. I pulled into the Service and Parts area, and got out to see Jim. No sooner did I go inside, then all the guys in the service department came out of the open service door to see my car. There must have been three or four mechanics checking it out. Jim came out and offered to install the new blades, so I said sure. Good thing I did, because the first pair he had did not fit the mounting pins properly. He went back to get different pair, and he successfully installed them as all the mechanics watched.

Before I left, Jim called to the cashier, and told her to hurry outside to see my car before I had to go. She came out quickly to get a look at the car that had already drawn a small crowd. This really was a great reception from the Carlisle Ford dealer, and I pulled out of the lot with an appreciation of their nice reaction to my car. :coolman:

Lots of Love for the Blue MMs this year !! And I missed out on it. LOL

I thought we had a much better spot this year.
We weren't on the really STEEP part of the hill, or next to the hamburger-grease volcano, and I liked having the tent in the middle of the spread instead of next to the busy, dusty road. It also seemed closer to everything and had a better view.

I agree that we had a good location. And thanks to Mr. Man for the great pics. Also thanks to the amazing Bluerauder for all the stats when he wasn't even there. He either has a good crystal ball... or a good informant!

Can't take credit for any pics Jim. Ms. D took a few and posted under my login.:)

I have a buddy who would lone me his 10 X 20 car port. I don't know if it would fit in the Marauder. There are lots of pipes. If I can stuff it into the car, then I'll bring it next year. If I can't, then I'll pick up a 10 X 10 EZ Up.

I doubt whether Carlisle Events would allow you to erect a carport on the Showfield. It would probably open a big can of worms for them.

You also need to consider something that can be knocked down rather quickly. Remember back to 2010 when that freak windstorm blew through Carlisle. I tried to get out before the storm hit; but never even made it to the wash rack area when traffic back up. Nearly every tent was damaged or torn and many had tent stakes pulled out of the ground and were flapping in the wind. We were lucky because that year, our tent was in the hollow below the Car Corral. I think our tent wasn't damaged at all. Not so for others especially on the big Hill. A reoccurrence might put a carport airborne with resultant damage. The EZ-Up Canopies can be dropped in minutes so not a problem.

Picture Titles

For all of you that have been posting and identifying pictures, Thank You. There are some of us that have not had the pleasure of meeting most of the membership. When posting a photo with no identifying information it is just another nice picture of a Marauder. When a member's name is added it strengthens the photo by identifying the individual that put a lot of hard work and effort to show there exquisite Marauder. If I posted a picture of someone's Marauder I would try to identify it by putting at least the members forum name but also real name if known. "Steven Hornaday (shornaday) 2004 Marauder" or something similar.

Again thank you for posting all of the links, videos, and pictures of the 2017 All Ford Nationals Carlisle Event. It shows the great time that all of you had and the many different shows and autos. I love them all. Thank You.
