Okay folks, time to start gauging interest in a meet again. We had a great turnout the last 3 years now, so lets make it just as big or BIGGER than year's past!

CONVOY INFO AT BOTTOM OF THIS POST!!

This year we will only be posting in the NTM Forum so as not to have mulitple threads on the same meet.

It will be held Sunday, November 7th for the meet.

Again, instead of eating at Woodys and getting your vehicles dirty, we will rent the pavillion at the park.

This is a Picnic lunch folks! As always, everyone is welcome, and all cars are welcome!

If you don't want to go to the trouble of packing a lunch, feel free to stop at Woody's and pick up stuff to go etc.

Woody's Smokehouse took great care of us last year but I think a lot of us didn't like getting our babies Dusty.

If you have FMRS/GMRS Radios, thats very helpful in communicating in a convoy as well! This year we will be on Channel 5.

Details:

When: 7 November 2010, 11 AM to ???
What to bring: You and your crew....Your Panther, A picnic lunch, Paper towels, Drinks, Folding chairs, camera, sunscreen, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: FORT BOGGY IS A STATE PARK, we must abide by all the rules, no hot rodding, burnouts, speeding etc. You will be ticketed and asked to leave.

When entering the park, pull in PAST the stop sign, park your car and check in at the booth. DO NOT enter the park without checking in and getting a pass to place on your windshield.

The park entry is now FREE, however, they still ask you to check in.

The Park Ranger at Fort Boggy is very nice and have accommodated us last year very nicely. Alcohol and Glass containers are also prohibited inside the park.

Feel free to bring a cooler with cold drinks, folding chairs, sunglasses, sunscreen, baseball caps etc. Yup, November but it was warm last year!


Sorry it has taken so long to get the information out, we wanted to be sure we didnt run into the same problem as last year....I do have conformation on the Pavillion.

Got a PM asking about a convoy to Centerville--OK--here's how we did it last year and it worked great--everybody arrived in Ennis within 15 minutes and we departed right on time and we got to Centerville about 10 minutes before the Houston group. I left Hurst at 0730--proceeded down E Loop 820 to I-20 at 0750--turn South on I-45 at 0820 to arrive at the Whattaburger in Ennis at 0850--depart Ennis about 0915 to arrive in Centerville about 1130. We met all the Western group at Ennis. As the time gets closer, I'll give directions to Whattaberger. O K , Pat, it's time for you to post the radio channels ,etc. Let's make this year a record one--it's been a great trip every year--Maury

Meeting at Crackerbarrell on the back side by Whataburger on I45N @ AIRTEX around 8 AM....Will be rolling out sharply at 8:30 AM!!


SAN ANTONIO/SAN ANGELO/AUSTIN AREAS:

From San Antonio: We will be meeting at Rudy's Country Store Bar-B-Q @
15560 I35N Selma Texas 78154. At 6:00 AM we will be leaving Rudy's and headed up to Temple to meet Abraham and Rick at about 8:15 AM then shoot over to Centerville and arrive by about 10:30 AM.

Im in for Centerville! Please let me know what my share of the pavillion rental will be and I can mail a check or pay the day of the meeting.
 
Are we sure the park is open this time?

We felt bad that the park was closed when we got there...no one felt any worse than we did as we were the ones setting this up....I had called to reserve the pavillion last year and was told over the phone that it was already reserved but the park would be open....unfortunately it was open to a hunt only....no visitors.

This year I called two differnt people...one at the park itself and made sure there was nothing going on...he said there was a hunt 2 weeks before our scheduled event but nothing was going on Nov. 7, 2010. The second person I called was the reservation department of the park....if the park were closed, I would not have been able to rent it.

I cringe at every response to this thread thinking it will be some one else who was upset because they (as did everyone else who showed up) drove all that way and not find a single Marauder. I dont know how many times I can applogize for what happend last year.

We made the best of a bad situation, and for the most part I think we still had a good time.

Again I am sorry for what happend last year.

Woah mike, to took it the WAY wrong way... i was able to meet everyone last time and i had a freakin blast!!

I was just wondering if we were able to get a reservation... thats all :beer:
