Wait I have that sound too... I believe it's play in the rear axle. Every time the rear brakes engage it stiffens and shifts the angle of the axle to the rear, when you let off the brakes, naturally it goes back to the original position. I will investigate as well. Just haven't gotten around to do it.
I was talking the air bag mounts loose I know air bags are rubber I'm going to take the wheels of and check the mounts had car up and found no loose parts and when u go over bigger bumps it make the same noise...... is there a way to change how much air goes in the bag?
Air bag mounts do not come loose.they are part if the airbag assembly . You need to raise car with no weight on rear suspension. To check for loose or worn bushings. Make sure you turn air ride switch off in trunk when raising car with nothing supporting the rear axle
you need to check control arms bushings with no weight on them, and the watts link, not the air bag mounts. and check for rear axle bearing wear..too much up and down movement, or it's possibly your pinion bearing
In my case the diff was loosey goosey and needed to be taken apart and shimmed. This was after a Certified Ford Tech took it apart to install 4.10's. I never went back there. I needed to install new carbon clutches anyway since my posi was inop so no big deal. Would have been nice if the Ford tech noticed they were shot. This was before I supercharged when burnouts were difficult, so I didn't even notice I had no posi. I hate using the brakes to hold the car for burnouts so I never did any. Now they are so easy it's sick.
