I have a cop going bad on my mm. It has 105k on it so I'd like to change them all. Parts store wants almost 50$ a piece for them so I figure I'll do msd or accel or something else instead and wondered what everyone here runs. Car see's 100+ miles a day this time of year so I want a quality product. Its an 03, has lt's and full exhaust, 4:10's, cobra cams and all the other bolt sons. Boost is in it'd future as well. Thanks in advance guys!

Motorcraft coils...Get them thru Sparta performance here on this site in the vendor section. They are not listed under the maraduer section..Send hima pm to get you set up..About $259 for 8

+1 on the Motorcraft COPS from Sparta.

Varying degrees of success using aftermarket COPS.

Just me, I guess...... but I replace only parts that go bad. I have most all the records for this car, two cops were replaced before I got it, both in the first 1000 miles. I have replaced one @ 65,000, replaced with Motorcraft, now have 88,000 miles.

This has not proven to be a good approach with regard to the coils for many people here, myself included. It turns out the OEM parts have a limited lifespan with problems of deteriorating plastic and probably other issues that cause intermittent misfiring.

Given the well-known issues and reasonable cost of parts it makes far more sense to replace them all once problems start to occur.

Stay away from Granatelli aka "Crapatellis"....POS!!! :nono:

Ask me how I know?

As mentioned above, stick with OEM Motorcraft coils....which is what I should've went with the first time.

The "Stealer" charged $80 for the #4 COP.
It was the second time I replaced that particular COP.
It is also the only one I've replaced (twice) in 165,000 miles.

Not sure what your point is. Sounds like you have also experienced coil problems like many of us.
My point was in response to your statement that the OP should replace them all just because one went bad. Now I might agree with you if one, then another, then another went bad it would be time to cut your losses and do them all.

I replaced all 8 at 97k. Motorcraft ftw. I think the only way to have individual coils checked is to have a specialty Ford tool to check them. Thats why most just replace all 8. Price i paid: $115 for 9 new cops...

I have 1 going bad as well. Not sure which so I am going to replace them all

It's probably cheaper to buy 8 COPs and change them all at once. If one or two are bad then the rest might be not to far behind.

I have 8 brand new Mustang take-offs I got from Musclemerc and it appears I won't need them if you are interested??

I'll probably need them if/when they are gone!!:argue:

Price? Since you are offering I'm guessing they will work with the MM. When you say new takeoffs, how new is new?

Musclemerc had a friend that for whatever reason removed and replaced coils on on new 4 valve motors and sold them unused.

I bought this set awhile back and they have sat ever since......mine still work so I just never changed them out!!

$150.00 shipped!!

I gambled on the 80$ set that I found a link to on here. figured it was worth a shot to get me by until I can save up enough for a set of msd"s. I drive it everyday this time of year and its making me crazy lol
