I need help! I purchased my '03 just over a year ago and I really like the car. It is the first new car I have ever owned and is the nicest material thing I've ever had. The big issue I'm facing, which is forcing me to consider selling the car is the lack of support from the 2 (actually 1, more on that later) dealerships out here in Victoria. The dealership I bought it from (Glenoak Ford) is owned by the only other dealer in this town (Suburban Ford) and the next closest one is over an hour's drive in Duncan.
My biggest concerns are with the engine and paint and there are other concerns with poor quality workmanship on the part of the garage and from manufacturing.
The dealers here keep blowing off my car's problems and have an overall lackadaisical attitude, such as not returning phone calls, or telling me to call at a certain time and get " Mr. **** is at a meeting all day" or the worst one I've had is "Don't worry, you still have lots of warranty time left".
I've called Ford Canada and the rep there said "We can't do anything about it, you have to go through your dealer". After repeatedly stating my concern about the orange peel and spider web paint job, the dealership sent it out to their detail shop and it came back looking like Frankenstein's monster did the buffing and polishing! It was atrocious! The response is basically, "That's not our fault". I was so furious I couldn't even speak! I left and didn't come back for a couple of months to cool down... aaagh, nevermind - it just goes on and on. I won't even get into the problems I had when I brought it in for the 10 000 km warranty. Except to mention that they put the wheels on backwards so the engine stalled out at about 50 kph. Grrr... my anger level is rising just writing this!
I need some good advice on how to wake these p****s up and see that my car's issues are addressed once and for all.
My next step will be to type a letter to FMC stating all my concerns (that'll be at least a 3-pager) and their response will determine my next step. But what is THE NEXT STEP, aside from laying down a little bit of the ol' CLockwork Orange on these louts?
