Dodge Charger Autoshow Reveal...

If it's only a 5.7L Hemi with 340 HP then it isn't even a different engine, just a lighter car with the same engine, and that's a maybe on if it's lighter or not.

Makes me wonder why the heck they even bothered. The 300C is the same damn car, and we all know how disappointing they have been performance-wise. Just ask the owners.

Oh come on that will get more looks than the GTO but one problem it might just make you a little:puke: after you see it eeeeewwwwhhhho!!!

Looks better than ?

I like it!Not as much as a Marauder. But it is better looking than the wagon!I know I'm the only one so far but others may have liked it too but are not willing to say so:hotrice: I know it's not a ricer, or even close for that matter.Because our competitors are so few and far between, I have welcomed any entries into our segment. If no one does, then their will be no guys to beat up on!:cool4:

Boy that doesn't look anything like the New Charger that I remember being shown in Autoweek a few years back. That one looked real good! On this one the 4 doors and Audi/Passat rear qtrs look real thrown together. The concept I remember did sorta like the new Mustangs vs the older Mustang styling linkage but cool modern. Does anyone else remember it that way or has CRS struck again?

This is, scratch that WAS more like it....

Those are the pics I saw in todays paper - they made it sound like this was what was going into production! Then again, in another article they annouced the new technology for '05 was auto dimming headlights!

OMG  , magic shrooms, white stuff :rasta: Or maybe all 3, what happened? Someone, call the cops!

Here's a little more on this.http://www.popularhotrodding.com/features/0404phr_dodge/
I guess I understand why (bean counters won again) but... I sure liked the 1999 version better...I'm real glad I didn't wait for one like the 99 version that will never happen...still all smiles about my MM :) :) :)
Here is a pic of the 99 concept and the old Chargers... The new Charger could be a Hemi Dud... You know... the wheels on the 99 concept look a lot like MM wheels...

Absolutely agree.

The concept would have been nice.

What a shame.

Apparently, Dodge is taking some heat (rightfully so), for the 4-door:

Autoweek had this to say (http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101327)
The Chrysler group's revival of the Charger name on a Dodge sedan is generating "hate mail," says a senior executive. Production of the 2006 model starts in January, but correspondence is voluminous opposing the name on a four-door, says Trevor Creed, Chrysler senior vice president of design. The naysayers, writing primarily via e-mail, champion various Charger coupes that ran from 1966 through 1978 and from 1982 through 1987, Creed says. "They all think their Charger is the real thing."

Now THIS is a Dodge that I would drive. Too bad all the ones they put on the road lack the class, or hi-po look of the prototypes...

Sounds like similar arguments as what was seen in the old-vs-new GTO battles. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Wtf?

WHY GOD... WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 2 door? that woulda been hot, and maybe somthin a little less...ram 1500'ish front end. What the hell were they thinking????

It was a 4 door concept

When I was a younger lad, we did not have many other options!;)

Actually, if I remember correctly, the 1999 concept was a 4 door. If you look closely at the pics, you can see the rear doors. The idea was to make a 4 door that looked like a 2 door. Must have worked!:D I agree, though. The concept looks so much better than the reality, Ram 4 door Sedan.

Remember Peggy Bundy's famous quote

On Married with Children, Al Bundy was talking about his Dodge on one show and Peggy replied Nothing says failure like driving a Dodge!

Guess that sums it all up.

Well, its up on the site now, and its like the first one. The best thing on the page is the Viper coupe. They've got a Magnum SRT-8 on it too. :(
