Does a thunderbird super coupe count as a kill?

I guess I'm lucky as I have both cars. :D

I've got an '03 Marauder and a pretty sweet little '94 Supercoupe 5 speed. After the work I put into them, the SC will eat my Marauder.

It all just depends on the mood of the day as to which I will drive...

Same here. I'm lucky enough to have a 93 SC 5-speed and the 04 Marauder. The SC gets the garage but I drive it to work about once a week. Having the stick blows the Marauder automatic out the window. I almost didn't get the Marauder because of the dang automatic - I hate 'em.

You're right. For those of us who know what the Turbo/Super Coupe was, the LX Tbird and the newest Tbird were big disappointments.

Like many of the folks on MM.net, I don't know by name, but if I saw his car or his S/N, I might know who you're talking about.

Thank you for complimenting my bird. I got very lucky with this one and I'm proud of her. I was overseas in '05- '06 and decided that I wanted a '94-'95 5 Speed. I looked all over for one when I got back to the US and came across one with a motor that was leaking coolant into the water. Made a deal for it and drove 12 hours with truck and trailer to pick it up. Met the owner who was also US Air Force and stationed WITH the car in Italy. The car was even more beautiful in person than the pics showed. http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s115/lilcop2002/1994 SC/ I paid the cash, got the title, and a FOLDER full of receipts worth about $10K in maintenance and mods.

Got it home and realized that the bolt that keeps the camshaft in place wasn't in tightly and had cracked the timing cover and allowed the camshaft to wreck the valve train. Went through and rebuilt the motor with stronger parts, new cam, ported and polished the intake and heads, MAC headers, full exhaust, Cold Air Induction, and a few other goodies.

Now, she will eat my Marauder's lunch from a dig and up to whatever speed I'm willing to take them.:banana2:

If only I could find a decent deal on a larger MAF and 42lb injectors, I could get Dave Dalke to tune it for me. Hint Hint Hint, folks...

Also, I think that Mike in Knoxville,TN, is Mike Tuck. He has a gorgeous white Cougar, but I haven't been able to see him about it yet.

Just remember if you get that '94 5 Speed, there were only 724 produced...

I have a 90mm lightning maf.

Yup its Mike Tuck.

Yeah Ima restore the 94 and keep her stock except for maybe a 4.2 stroker and cam and heads. But it'll look stock;).

2 Beautiful cars!

That blue SC is sweet looking.

But there is something missing in that photo....2 rear spoilers!...;)

BTW: Does anyone remember when Kenny Brown would section the T-Bird SCs and shorten them by @ 8 inches?
They looked more like a BMW when he was finished....definitely unique looking T-Birds.

I was waiting for the T-Bird "Super Duper Couper"........ but it never came.....

Always thought that Ford should have put a 351 in the mid 80's T-Bird....

I had an 85 TurboCoupe, and I now have an LX (4.6) and a 2003 Bird.

My LX would have been a great car if the auto trans had been higher quality. No hot rod, but with the slightly lower 3:27 rear, not a dog either. At full throttle, manual shifting from "D" to "2" at red line provides a much more positive shift as opposed to letting the trans shift on its own. At 144,000 miles, motor still runs great.

As for the 2003, it is exactly what it was designed to be, a top down cruiser. Doesn't handle as well as my 2004 Lincoln LS, but neither car (same motor/trans) are dogs from a standing start (stock form, 0-60 around 6.5 seconds). And, with the five speed select shift, they can be fun to drive.

The 2003 and up LS and TBirds were considered much better performers than the 2002s. Added about 30 hp. Plus, I can get near 30 mpg on highway runs.

But, passenger and trunk space are very limited, especially on the TBird.

beautiful SC, very very nice, I still want one

Thank you very much. The interior and exterior are all factory OEM. That's how good shape she's in.

I'm the opposite. I drive the MM daily, but on occasion, the SC will get the attention. The construction around here kills me when the clutch has to be pressed in and out for over an hour as the local idiots figure out how to drive.

I have a 90mm lightning maf. How much you want for it?

Yup its Mike Tuck. Good guy, but I've never met him although I went to HS with hids kids.

Yeah Ima restore the 94 and keep her stock except for maybe a 4.2 stroker and cam and heads. But it'll look stock;). That's the way mine is except for a very distinct lope, you'd never know it was torn down and reborn. ALthough, I couldn't find a 4.2 stroker that was really worth the cost and hassle.

But there is something missing in that photo....2 rear spoilers!...;) Eventually I will get the spoilers, but getting out of debt is a little more important... If you want to buy me one or two, I'll get them painted.

This is his page on SCCoA

He went 12.13 @ 112 at last year shootout but I swore he hit 11.90's after that. He's the one who got me into SC's. If I didn't have so much bad luck with the one I bought, I'd probably still own one.

I don't know who he is as I don't spend much time over there anymore although the name looks familiar.

Look at all the T/SCoupe fans we have brought out of the woodwork:beer:

If it was a Blue MM .... it would be a perfect pic. :P
Bleh! Who needs a blue MM? I'd rather have the black and blue bruises to match the Bluerauder's ego.:P
