What size drag tire could I safely put on the full size spare wheel?
The cost of 18" drag radials is very high and you may be better considering a different diameter rim (e.g., 16" or 17"), which can be picked up cheap and will have more tire options. In a compatible tire diameter and load index, you only have 305/45R18's available, which obviously will not fit width-wise on the spare and would require a widened rim (same for 275/285). The next best would be a 265, but these would be a very tight fit, and the options available have insufficient load rating and would result in a smaller tire diameter, messing up ABS/TC if you plan to drive to the track on them. Finally, there are several 235/245 options, but all the ones I've found are designed for light-weight compacts. What size drag tire could I safely put on the full size spare wheel?
I have 265/40-18 BFGoodrich drag radials which work OK (Bradley G has used them on his Marauder with success also) - although I use them on regular Marauder alloys.
