e85?

Itsonly worthed if you are forced induction. You will need bigger fuel system and a good tuner.
 
Ethanol is corrosive and I believe just about everything in the fuel system from the tank to the injectors needs to be compatible. I think the cost of conversion would far exceed any benefit.

You might be able to find parts from a wrecked FFV Crown Vic, but the job needs to be done right, not hacked.

Most people will shoot down alternate fuels right away saying "your blow your engine!" without even knowing the facts. I'd say try a 50/50 mix at first. If you think about it, anything that would be ruined would had to have been replaced anyways to run it.

Can anyone actually find a difference between a FF CV and a marauder fuel system?

My question to you is why?
 
E-85 ethanol does not have the BTUs that gasoline does. Without bigger injectors and a tune you will run very lean if at all.
 
ok here goes flex fuel vehicles have different fuel pumps, lines, injectors (diamond impregnated pintles), fuel rails, filters,tune and or ecu and also a special set of sensors that can figure the type of fuel you are running ie gas or e 85 this would mean needing to run wires from the ecu to that sensor. basically everything would need to be changed out. this is due to the fact that e 85 is more corrosive then gas is. If you actually compare the 2 they are about equal e 85 maybe cheaper but you get less mileage. the cost involved in my opinion is not worth it unless you buy the car set up for it.

And if it wasn't for subsidies, it wouldn't be cheaper either, just worse mileage...:cool:
 
A good tuner that has experience with E85 will be able to sell you a tune and you wont have to change anything out if you are relatively stock.

One gas you will get about 23 highway on E85 it drops to 17 to 18. I never did an intown MPG test.

Subsidies where stopped last year, ethanol is on its own.

It will not kill your fuel system,it is more of a strong cleaner, it is methanol that is corrosive, plus 15 percent gas is a lubricant. The absorbing water is overblown aswell, it is hydroscopic but to have drivability problems would need lots of water.

The blend changes to 70 pecent in winter locations, but a good tune will compensate. E85 has been compaired to about 105 motor octane, E70 less. It burns clean, smells like vodka when the car is warming up in the morning.

I like it, hopefully they can start making it with cellulose soon, they have a few plants starting soon.:burnout:
