False Marauder sightings....from friends

Since I 'adopted" my MM in November, I have had 5 or 6 friends say, " Yeah, I saw a Marauder just like yours at such & such place." Though they seem to be keyed to spot one, it is usually false. Sunday, a guy from work said he saw one just around the corner and down 2 blocks. "Show me." We get in his truck and as soon as we turned the corner I instantly identified a very clean, black ....Grand Marquis.
It happened again with someone who owns a 94-96 Impala SS, in black, of course. It is amazing how one's persona is linked to the vehicles they drive.
I was "Mustang Pat", "Cop-car Pat", and I believe those will stick as no one really knows that Marauders exist. Most people think you molested a GM or that it is a black CVPI. I've even had people ask if I painted the CVPI black.
Similarly, being that 90 % of P71's are white and there are at least 10 in the city I live in, I get the "Where were you going Friday about 7 P.M. ? "No where, I was at work."

easiest way to inform people is ask if they see the Marauder in the bumper. unless it's moving...

I was behind a "HEMI Intrepid" coming to work today. I know that 'cause that's what it said on the rear. :rofl: "HEMI" was in 1.5" silver letters above the "Intrepid" name. Probably plastic.
 
Oh man... the cop car comments get old. "You look like an undercover" is probably the #1 comment I get from people I know, or "I like what you did to that thing" from strangers... when it's a 99% stock appearing Marauder

People who buy cop cars or cars of the same male/model of cars cops use: YOU SUCK! So many almost-heart-failures and unnecessary-slow-downs due to the fear you were a cop. C'mon, be considerate, buy another car or put something identifiable on your car so we know you're not a cop from a distance -- rims, stickers, flags, etc...

Yeah you gotta love the dum questions about our cars,like when I had the Police Interceptor emblem on rear of car some people,asking was that a Police car at one time ?Or does that have a cop motor in it.I say they wish lol .
 
All Marauders have Cop motors.

And Cop shocks.

And we're all Cop wannabes. We love rushing up on people and giving them almost-heart-failures and causing unnecessary-slow-downs.

Worst I've gotton was, "It's a what, oh just a GMQ/cop car." Kinda burn me up alittle since I just told you what it was and instaed of asking what the difference is they make this coment. I end up saying when I get the cinfused look, "What the Impala was to Caprice, so is the Maruader to the GMQ. Only better":D

I hate explaining a whole Marauder history everytime i get a compliment. Besides when are you gonna see those random people again lol
 
well I havent owned mine too long but since I bought the marauder last sept I got a lot of looks and alot of thumbs up from people driving and walking...the people walking may have been looking for a ride though, lol. spring is around the corner and cant wait to drive it through the nice weather!!
 
Ahh, the good ole curious/know it alls. I hate when they try and finish my sentence while I'm telling them about the make/model. I was super insulted when some air head tried to TELL ME that i put a marauder kit on a gmq.. I pretty much wanted to floor it with him under the car so he could figure it out.
Anybody else hate seeing fake cowls/air intakes posted on cars???
