This is a good one...

Supreme Court weighs police action in 100 mph chase

A 19 year old flees from police in a car chase at speeds of 100 MPH. He passed 36 cars, weaving in an out of the double yellow line at high speed. The LEO, after getting permisson from his supervisor, rammed the suspect's vehicle at 90 MPH causing it to go airborne down an embankment and crash. The fleeing suspect is now a quadriplegic because of it, and is bringing the officer to court.
 
GOOD!!!!! I wholeheartedly believe that if you're committing a crime when you get hurt - you should automatically be excluded from protection and compensation in ANY manner.

Lets all feel bad for the dangerous little punk who put EVERYONE in harms way and ended up only hurting himself!

Maybe they should have awarded him $100 per month.....for diaper supplies.

This case is almost as bad as armed criminals getting shot by homeowners when they are breaking into the home and end up sueing and winning....WTF!?

In a lot of the countries where I lived (and I even exclude Africa), the little punk would have been shot dead. Period.

If the cop had shot him dead, at least he wouldn't be around to argue about it!
 
From what I undestand the Supreme Court ruled that the officer WAS JUSTIFIED in ramming the punks car. Furthermore the Justices ruled that it was considered a deadly force situation. The liberals just don't get it.:mad: That car was a 4000 pound weapon and are responsible for 100's of deaths every day. You want to run from the police, pay the price.
 
Stupid Kid! Some idiot probably told him to sue so he can pay for his hospital bills. Yeah Right! :lol:

I was watching Fox & Friends yesterday morning, and they interviewed the lawyer for this little $h!th&@d, talk about a slimy SOB. "LEO's aren't supposed to chase people, 'cause bad things may happen if they do.":bop:

Let's put this in perspective, shall we?

If we put this in terms of momentum, we will easily justify 'taking out' the suspect.

First, we'll examine a .44 magnum round's momentum...
240 grains = .0343lb
muzzle velocity 1180 fps
momentum 40.5 (rounded) lbft/sec.

Now the car.
From the pic, it looks like a Fleetwood. GM C bodies of the early 80's were 3300 lbs base curb weight. Plus fuel, driver etc, we'll say an even 3500.
3500lb at 100 mph or 146 ft/sec
That's 511000 lbft/sec.

That means the 100 mph car carries approxiamtely 12500 times the momentum of a deadly bullet.

No one would have thought twice about justification if he was shot for weilding a gun. He was 12500 times more potentially deadly than if he'd fired a gun - a 44 magnum, no less.

Therefore, the officer was 12500 times more justified to stop him.

My thoughts exactly. We could have just as easily been hurt along with John Q. Public, especially when he try to stop the knuckle head.
