Ford is putting a new engine in the Marauder

Well the Marauder is getting a new engine. I bought the car from a member on here and it has been a great car. It had 24,000 miles on it when I bought it. It has 72,000 on it now. It has had cam chain noise when started for quite a while. Then here lately it developed a weak cylinder that could only be noticed when cranking the engine. Done a compression test on it and #5 had 45psi. Lucky for me I still have premium care on the car so ford is putting in a new engine. The car never idled rough or showed a check engine light. Only bad thing is ford doesnt have a engine built for it and the shipping date is June the 11th, so looks like the car is gonna sit for a while. Hope I have good luck with the new reman engine.

You bet your azz

That is a good engine!
My reman has well over 90K blown and many members have flogged the dog in it.

I got a crate motor out of Ford for the same reason about nine months after I got it. I've had it now for about six years.

I read on the ford site that each engine is bored oversized. I would love to have a build sheet on the motor. Im gonna ask for one and see if they will send it along with the engine.

Interesting

It would not surprise me if Ford put a little more $$ into the Reman motors, Mine has defied all odds[!!!

if you have a '03 and they send you a complete engine. the valve covers will not be black.

We will see. I would of loved to put a aluminator in it but I just feel lucky to have premium care to pay for a stock engine.

I would assume that a Trilogy S/C voids this coverage? I just checked the pricing on a 5 year plan and I'd get it for piece of mind, but the car has been trilogized....

robertmee - do you mind disclosing how much the 5 year was for you, i havent been able to find that pricing anywhere...

If you're talking about extending the Ford Premium Care warranty, you have to purchase it before your current warranty service expires IIRC capt512, so your best be is to give your local authorized Ford dealer and ask for some quotes, they vary depending on mileage, deductible, etc. I hope this helps. :)

You can thank Our president for the lack of engines! I went through a similar issue with my car and Ford. At that time I was looking at a 2.5 month wait.So I thought same motor may have same issue.SINCE I was going to have to pay for it,oh buy the way my warranty exp 3 months prior to this. So I decided to give Lidio a call. And believe me I dont regret that... :)

motor

Motor came in early. I took a look at it. Looks super nice. Black valve covers. Complete with oil and filter. Im wondering if I should have them swap out my steeda crank pulley or just leave the new motor untouched. Looking forward to getting the car back soon.
