Wow! That's a good deal!

Count me in.

This will be my first time in such an event (although I have completed police emergency driving schools, so I'm not 100% ignorant). Does this include instruction as well? I'm sure it does.

Also, is it restricted to Fords? My dad has done these events a couple times in the past at Texas World Speedway with the BMW clubs - he has an Acura *puke* - but, I'd love to make it a father/son day for us. Plus, I'm an Aggie, so it's a good excuse to return to Aggieland! :)

Nice pic, btw.

Edit: I just checked the website and I can't figure out how to reserve my spot. Any help there?

First timers will be put in the green group. You will have classroom sessions plus first two sessions will be with an instructor to help learn the course.

Any cars are welcome. I'd love to pass an Acura. :D

Saturday night we hit the local Fox and Hound for drinking, pool and general rowdiness. Always a great time.

Maybe this time will be different.

HAHAHA we'll either keep you out of trouble or get you in more trouble! You'll have a good story either way.

Murph,

Not to be totally ignorant, but what in the heck is a paddock?

I'm assuming it's one of the garage areas, is that correct?

Please make sure to post updates here. I am definitely going to be attending this event. I will pay as soon as possible in order to assure a garage area....er, paddock.

Yea a paddock is a garage area, more like a covered carport for you to store your stuff, when you get on the track you'll want to empty out your trunk and remove all loose idems inside the car as well. You don't want anything in the trunk because you don't want anything banging around inside denting your car from the inside of the trunk. :)

I just registered as a "Ford Bastard" waiting on verification so I check out the specifics of the track days....but $220 is a lot of money considering the gas, hotel and food. Probably be more like 5 bills. I went last year just for the day and got in the Parade lap so the cost was minimal....so I am wrenching over this....hard cause I will have my tune by then and this would be a great oppertunity to really put it to the test.

Mike,

Are you going to be there this year, too?

I'll be there for sure. Guaranteed.

I might do the same thing I did last year and just watch every one else race around the track. Hopefully I will get to participate this year...but I dont even have a helmut. So depending on track rules that maybe another expense...we will see what happens. But hopefully!!

Which coarse will this be held on? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if we should bring extra brake pads if it on the 2.9 mile high speed.

Last year the cost was $275. for the 2 days and the gas prices at the time were higher. $220. is a really good deal. We usually stay a the Super8 not a 5 star hotel but good enough for 2 nights.

SID210SA
The track has loaner helmets.

crowdog
We will be running the 2.9 course, best thing about this track is there is only 1 offcamber turn on it.

If you've never driven on a road course you'll have a blast. :D

Dont get me wrong....I am sure it is well worth it....money is just tight right now and has been for about 6 months...Long story of trying to help a family member....and If I have the extra money I will be there to participate instead of spectate. I forgot they had loaner helmets...and your right....gas was much higher then.

it does cost some bucks. But its hard to find 3.5 hours of track time for under $225.

Plus I'm sure someone will buy you a beer Saturday night. :)
