If you're looking for a complete exhaust setup that produces an extra 50rwhp at 6000rpm and 35ft/lbs of torque at 5200rpm.
After 5000rpm, the stock marauder exhaust system gives up the ghost, it just doesn't flow well enough.
The Kook's system open's it right up.
Reinhart Automotive offers a shorty header as well as a ported/polished/coated stock manifold, both of which will provide substantial power gains over stock as well, but I haven't personally dyno'd them, so I can't speak to their performance.
I can tell ya I'm absolutely ecstatic over the Kook's header performance though and highly recommend it.
I should add that my car also has a Reinhart Chip in it, and that the power gains I've seen are in conjunction with the chip...

The headers are going to be as loud as you let them be. Loud tends to have a direct correlation to making power. 
I have Magnaflow 14" 4x9's on my car and with the headers and high flow cats, yes, it's significantly louder than stock and certainly doesn't sounds anywhere close to stock anymore.
But, if you were to put an 18 or 20" muffler or a more restrictive unit on there, it'd be plenty quiet.

Did you just weld the Magnaflows into the stock pipes or do they make a complete cat back system?
I'd like to just have some Flowmaster 40's welded in first and then add an H-pipe, and then headers last. Is this a good idea?
How loud is your exhaust IN the car? Are you getting a drone at highway speeds or does it sound great?

No, if you're going to put headers in, you're going to custom build an entire exhaust system, the stock 2" pipe is worthless.
It was maybe 3 hours of tubing bending and welding to fabricate the exhaust up.
If you're not interested in power gains, go ahead with just a set of flowmasters. It you want power, don't piece meal it, save your pennies and do it right the first time round.
Marauder2306, I've got no clue... I would expect an even larger benefit than would be seen on a N/A car. When a buddy of mine did Kook's long tubes on his 2000 Lightning, the difference was just as impressive. I think he was making an extra 35ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels...

if you want a full cat back exhaust system that last forever, get the Borla for the 99-02 CV/GM. it requires the 99-02 mounting brackets/hangers and cutting the straight part right between the flange and mufflers while expanding the rear to make a slip fit and 2 extra borla stainless band clamps. but how beautiful it is while looking under the car, especially with the SVO rear girdle and soon to be metal matrix drive shaft. system is just as quiet but deeper with no rasp at all. smooth and deep. now considering the sean hyland motorsports t304 stainless full length headers to match the Borla's t304 stainless pipes.

The only part of the stock system I used was the exhaust tips themselves, everything else was replaced.
Regarding SHM's headers, they're great units, but unfortunately, apples to apples, cost almost twice the cost of the Kooks.
To each own, but the smart man looks for pre-post dyno graphs before laying down serious cash on exhaust. Which is why we went to the lengths we did with the Kook's install.
Proven performance, that's what it's all about.
