Guys help me out!

Guys I have been told that now that I am having the new motor installed in my MM, that it is not going to be the same. People say that this never works out and that their would be a lot of problems with the motor or something else. R people being too negative about this? I do not want to get rid of my marauder cause that's what they r advising me too do. A friend that is a mechanic also told me the same. Even my father said that the car may not be the same. Why? Some have advise me to trade it in as soon as it gets fixed but I think the dealer will not give me what I owe for the car which is still alot. I just barely got it in February, that's 8 months! I do not know what to think. Can somebody help me out with serious answers please. Shine some light on this!

I don't know

the details of your car problems or why it is that you're getting the engine replaced. If you've posted that on another thread, then I've missed that, but I don't see why people would automatically jump to those conclusions. I don't agree w/that unless the mechanics in question are incompetant. But if the dealer will be performing the work, then perhaps that is why some people are telling you this. But in general I disagree, unless there are some specifics that I'm not aware of that would alter my viewpoint.

My advice it to get the car fixed then see how the next few months go.

If they do a good job installing the new motor, there is no reason why it shouldn't run great.

Your friends are filling your head with too many "what if's". The engine you are getting will probably be better than the original. It will come with updated valve guides etc. Don't worry, your car lost no value and if installed in a professional manner, reliability will be the same.

I have seen many engine replacements and they always worked out fine. With the installation of a new (crate) motor you should have no problems. It is still under warranty by FMC.

You may actually get a BETTER motor as FoMoCo is sure to NOT want this to happen a second time, thus forcing them tp pay up AGAIN. You can bet they are going to tell the dealer to be damn sure the work is done in such a way as to assure a 'final fix'. The few complete motor swaps I have known about went well. My good friend, who bought a 5.0L Mustang in 1998 had this happen, and he ended up getting a motor that ran better than any other stocker he has ever had. His now has over 75K on it and he has yet to have another motor related issue.

FWIW

Well...considering your first engine is broke....

Don't let fools persuade you...you'll be fine with the new motor.

I hope so. It just worries me cause like I said before I do not want to get rid of my car! This is my baby and I am lonely right now and the poor car is just waiting outside in the dealership parking lot.

Get the new engine.....
I have had two engine replacements
in other cars without any problems.
The new engine will probably be
better than the original.... It was
with mine.
Gotta Love It!

Dont believe what they tell you. The car wil be the same if not better. I found out friday that the dealer wouldnt warranty my car so the insurance company is gonna pick up the bill, the dealer said i should have the car back in about 2 weeks or less. So i hsould be able to get back on the road when you do.

You'll be fine...but FIRST...tell that dealer your car gets stored inside! Serious...I've been without mine for over 3 1/2 weeks and I gave explicit instructions that my car will be inside...yes, I even went by a couple of times to double-check...and it was.

hey,

maybe the people that are telling you that the car will "never be the same" are right. it will be better! Besides, maybe either they just were against you buying the Marauder in the first place, cuz they were either jealous of you, or they just don't like American rear wheel drive V8 cars.;) Don't laugh, I've had people in my own family tell me what a piece of garbage my Vette was when I bought it, and yet it turns heads where ever I go, and the thing is a Babe magnet too!!!!! And it's been like that for the past 6 years ever since I bought it. The point is when it comes to material possessions, people are strange.

These same strange people drive off in their upscale Japanese SUVs maybe? Try the parking test. Place a Marauder next to the Lexus (100% Toyota) SC430 and the crowd will flock to the Marauder. Why? It is much better looking and it also looks one heck of a lot tougher!

Don't get me going on Rice cars!

Tell 'em unless they can back it up with cold, hard facts, they should take their gossip back into the kitchen!

We replace motors at my dealership all the time. The car should be as good as new when it's done. I see no reason to get rid of the car. I just went to the dentist today for a route canal. Everyone told me it hurts like hell. Well let me tell you, don't ever be afraid of a route canal. It's a piece of cake. People told me how bad a stress test was, another piece of cake. Don't listen to people who don't know what they are talking about!!!
