Half way to a new Paint job...

Well, I'm about 1/2 way to a new paint job, should be in the shop next week for a full warrantied repaint. I've got spider crack welts on the roof, hood and trunk, so we're going for full job.

That being said, not being one to leave well enough alone and a fan of the two-tone harley f150 paint job, I'm pondering a two tone job to the marauder, with the silver being Silver Birch...

Here's a couple examples of my thoughts, never mind the horrible photochopping, I ain't no expert, but you get the idea...

I would stick with a solid colour but add accent stripes. The two tone doesn't do it for except in the following case:

After working on the design a bit, I can see now why ford painted the front bumper cover on the Harley, it just doesn't quite work without doing the front cover...

The pictures don't do the thought justice, but it'd be something to see, that's for sure... A love it or hate it kinda thing.

I've seen it done to a 03 Cobra and it looked kick ass.

Whacked it but good...

What's bugging me is I've seen jack squat in terms of custom paint work on a marauder and I'm itching to do something...

How's about that funky orangish/red color by PPG that I've seen on a lot of Impala SS's? Personally, I think I'd go with a deep dark purple with a light metalic flake in the clear coat. Either that or PPG jet black with purple ghost flames.

Well Logan, I have been working on the Harley Davidson unauthorized Marauder for the last couple of months. I have the 100th Anniversary logo Wings on my truck lid. Also I have replaced the Round Mercury waterfall with a Harley Davidson Live to Ride Gas tank medallion. It’s a perfect fit. As for the color combinations, try a Harley Orange single strip down the center of the hood and use the Harley logo tape on the edges of the strip. You know, the same tape used on the F-150 HD. Don’t continue the color on the roof, but finish it on the trunk and stopping on the spoiler. Competition Orange was the color of choice from many venders including Ford. You may consider orange pin strips with a small Harley logo blending on the rear quarter panel.

I like the thought of that orange strip. I was actually debating on doing Harley orange pinstripes down the sides. They'd break into long, thin flames after the rear door... kinda like the early HD F150's.

Since everyone appears in a festive mood tonight, how about a standard black roof and a burnt orange body to acknowledge Halloween ???

This is an example of the color and tape used on the 2004 F-Series Super Duty HD Truck. This scheme is not what I had in mind, but offers some idea of the color combination. Notice: Look closely and you will see the Harley logo tape used to divide the two colors.
