How needs a sleigh

SWOOSH

There's a little kid in all of us...
Well, made it through my first snowfall of the year in my Marauder. Everything went okay, until a big hill came up. I got stuck near the top (vehicles in front just plain stopped and I couldn't get a running start), so I just turned off the traction control and gunned it, no problem from there, it didn't even fish tail (Granted it was only a couple of inches).

I didnt get to drive in the snow...but I did drive in the freezing rain...not too bad...

yeah I remember the days on kdw's. I couldn't get out of the parking spot and ended up stranded at work. With the winter 16's I was beter off but still had a few close calls.

While driving home from Hershey, I got caught on Sat. night with the temps dropping fast at 28deg.F and it was raining. I had to stop every five minutes to de-ice the wiper arms.
Got slightly sideways once at 50mph. Maybe about 10degress from the direction of travel. Just let of the gas quickly, and kept tires pointed to where I wanted to go, no over correcting, recovered just as fast as when I lost it. I was very nervous after that one since my family was with me. So be careful out there!
Now it is sitting in the driveway coated with a very thick layer of ice.
Can't open anything at all. :(
Ohh, I hate winter; the only good things I like about it is possibly going skiing, knowing billions of insects are dying, & the birds are giving my paint a break.

I had a few issues where I could feel each wheel loose and regain traction that night. 2 am was even worse when trying to get back from pasadena md.

Do you have traction assist in your GM? I have had mine activate at parkway speeds in snow and or ice conditions and it kept the car straight ( just a slight wiggle). Granted I don't have the power you do, so that probably helps it from getting too loose.

I had it turned off since it was clear when I left Hershey. Granted, if it was on, it would have acted like you described. I'm a dope for not thinking of turning it on once I had seen the conditions getting worse. Another issue is that I didn't have the snow tires on yet.

I slid around my first winter season with the Marauder, the last three have been with dedicated ice/snow tires.
Completely different car in the slippery stuff!

I agree completely, mine are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 1 on all fours. I can use the same size all around since I have a Grand Marquis. No traction control warning light problems.
They are on a second set of rims and work very well for me. I've already passed some struggling FWD & SUV's using them.

I use Winter-Force all around. With them the car handles snow like a champ, now if only the SUVs will get out of my way :D
