I have been challenged to a Drag Race

Kinda reminds me of when I was in my 20's and headed out to Mary Dunn Road behind the Hyannis Airport on Cape Cod for drag racing tourists who drove up from NJ, NY and PA with their muscle cars looking for $100. races. Problem with those guys is we nailed them really bad. My buddies and I had 5.34 gears and drove around with cheater slicks on our cars like sharks looking for little fish....:D
:burn:

the old musle cars can move, but with a blower, i think you got it in the bag! Do you have nitrous? does he?

what is your 1/4 time

You have me torn here... my dad has a '69 Nova that HAD a 350 in it but now has a 427... I love that car... probably more than my marauder!... people get whip lash when they see that car... yes... more than the marauder

Make SURE you have some volunteers with video camers to record his crushing loss from several angles. Try to get him to brag on video about how fast his car is too. Then Youtube it. The world needs to know. heh heh heh

Go for it Tom! You can shut this assclown down with your monster. I know that road behind the airport in Hyannis too . Watch out though, he COULD lie, and put slicks on but make it look like they're his regular 15's or whatever he has. Try and take a peek at them if you can the night you race. We need a video too.

If its a N/A 383 in a nova with full interior and street tires, there is no way he will run 10's.

i'd say low 13's to mid 12's as the best range.

You actually own a 10 second car, so i dont see why using it to make some extra mod money would be so bad.

Your dad ain't Mike Smith from Allentown, is he?

Tom... just remember that guys like this break at the track, can't drive and may come over to your lane!

Or you could break and he wins.....

Leave the Bow tie at the bar. He will not raise the money nor will you be satisfied by the victory. Guys like him will always make excuses about what ever. Don't play his game. You know you got the aces in the card game. His is just frustrated about his pitiful life and the only thing that rewards him is his car and a jar of vaseline.
What he said.;)

Go for it, but bring about three or four friends, at least (really), and come armed. $4000.00 in cash money is nothing to sneeze at. No fun getting jacked up on the grounds or on the road home.

Please don't flash the cash, unless he does, have a friend hold it before hand.

This guy is not living in your world and sounds flaky. FWIW

Regards,

I told him to use slicks. Even then there is no way in hell that car will run 10.4's. I have a buddy of mine with a 69 Chevy Nova with a 396, big, carb, cam and slicks and runs 12.6 consistantly. A beautiful car. But old technology against new....He laughed when I told him about this deal. He said go for it and shut him up. He knows about my car and was at the track when I ran 2 - 10.9 passes.

Make sure the car at the bar is the car you are racing at the track, before you get out any money. Want to race my red car? Don't know do you.
Quote:(so when do you want to race your Marauder against my "Chevy"?)

Tom,

We're all pulling for you and have confidence in your driving abilities and your car's performance.

But...........don't underestimate your opponent, this smells like a set up, or a ringer or a hustle. Be aware of sabatoge.

Remember the old adage, "if it's too good to be true then it probably is".
(did I say that right?)

If it's on the up and up then we have no doubt as to who will win, you.

Regards,
